"We're just talking alright? We're not dating. I don't give a fuck what anyone says because that's the truth" I grit.

"Rory calm down" Eden speaks.

"Bro I can't fucking calm down. I don't know why people are talking like it's their business"

"You have to understand that Jack's-"

"A professional hockey player. Yeah. I tell myself that everyday now" I finish.

"Like look at this" I show her my phone full of tweets and comments about Jack and I from a picture taken at the basketball game.

I've never heard of this girl before until last month and I still don't know who she is

She's pretty, Jack scored a goal with her

He can probably do better. I still can't believe they're dating.

She's okay I guess. She looks skinny.

Damn Jack gotta girl now what are we supposed to do?

They went on a date last night

"I actually never- I haven't seen these what the fuck" Eden responds.

"Now you know why I'm upset. They probably think I don't know that I'm aware"

Before I can say anything else Jack rings and Eden passes me my phone.

"Hey baby" he greets.

"Hi" I mutter.

"What's wrong babe? Talk to me" he questions.

I can tell he sensed how I'm not in a good mood right now.

I take a deep breath before looking back at Eden who gestures the door but I signal for her to stay.

"It's the social media again" I talk.

"What happened?"

"I read stuff. I'm not offended where it hurts my feelings. It's just that- whatever we're doing it's no one's business"

"It isn't. It's extremely hard to get people to listen to our wishes and for them to respect it. There's always something that they're going to say about it regardless" he responds.

"I hate it"

"I know and I'm sorry that you're being brought into this" he apologizes.

"You don't have to apologize. I just wish that people didn't have to voice it out into on social media. No one was asking"

"Still you deserve better than people having your name in their mouths, if anything it should just be me"

"It's okay Jack"

"You and I both know it's not okay. Don't excuse it because you feel bad babe"

Why is he making more sense than me

"We can talk about it later if you want to. We're on a break from practicing" he says as I check the time to see 11:30.

"Okay"

"Are you doing anything right now?" he questions.

"No why?"

"Do you wanna head down here? I have three more hours to go but it would be nice to get your mind off of it" he suggests.

I look at Eden and she's constantly nodding her head with both thumbs up.

"Yeah okay" I answer and Eden starts dancing around that I try hard not to laugh.
