"Rory? Where's Rory?" I can hear Jack ask as I reach for him.

"I'm here Jack" I reply as I take his hand in mine.

I can feel the warmth and it gives me a sense of comfort. It's been three and a half hours since the incident and Jack is finally conscious for the most part.

"Where's our baby?" he questions and my eyes immediately go to Dr. Singh, Dr. Glashow, and Lindy in confusion.

What baby?

He gestures for me to keep talking to Jack.

"We don't have a baby J" I softly answer as I fix his hair back away from his face.

"We do Roryyyyyy. Where is he?" Jack questions as he winces in pain.

He?

Think

Think

It's hard not to tear up right now to be honest "Lola's watching him babe" I make an excuse.

"I wanna see him" he speaks up.

"Soon Jack" I respond shortly.

"I miss our baby Roryyyyyy" he replies and I hear him mutters words sounding like "Didn't bring him..."

"How are you feeling?" I ask him as I hold his hand and caress the back of it.

"Eh. Hurts a bit" he answers.

"Did we win?" he questions as his eyes narrow to try to get a look of me.

"I'm sorry Jack we didn't" I answer.

"Like...what happened?" he asks as he leans his head towards me.

"They stopped the game and I think the heads are deciding what happens next" I tell him since that's what was posted on behalf of the New Jersey Devils and the Arizona Coyotes.

The Dr. Singh excuses all of us so he can get a chance to explain what just happened. I give Jack a quick kiss as the Dr. Glashow tells him we'll be right back.

"What just happened?" I ask as the Dr Singh, Lindy, and I are outside his room.

"It was the impact of the concussion that altered a bit of Jack's mind. It put him in a deep sleep where he most likely dreamt of certain events and since he woke up, he believes that the events that happened are true" Doctor Singh explains.

"We did an MRI of Jack and it's nothing severe so he's extremely lucky" Dr. Singh continues.

He's really lucky. I'm proud of him for managing to skate off.

"How long?" Lindy questions.

"Atleast a week and a half. Then he can slowly try to engage in physical activity" Dr. Singh explains.

"Lindy he's going to be able to make it for the All Stars" Dr. Glashow mentions since he's the Devils' Chief Medical Officer.

I've heard them talking about how Jack is going to represent the Devils for the all star games next month.

"He just needs a lot of rest right now" he adds.

"How long is he going to be here?" I ask.

"He's finished his tests but we're going to keep him here for observation overnight" Dr. Singh adds.

"And he's good to go home in the morning right?" I question.

"He gets discharged around noontime the most" Dr. Glashow replies as I nod.
