Rory

"Huh?" I blink a few times.

"C'mon Rory" Eden calls as I'm at the bottom of the escalator in Prudential and she's moving away from me.

"Sorry" I mutter as I get on.

It's game day and the Devils are going against the Calgary Flames.

"Are you okay?" she questions.

"I don't know" I say starring at the floor.

She doesn't say anything even when we get to our seats.

I don't want to be here

I realize. I start texting Mahina about it and another friend of mine who I was just texting. I don't know if I want to tell Eden but I'm already here.

I'm always here during home games because the game schedules don't clash as much. Eden leaves without saying anything, either to get food or use the bathroom.

I check my phone notifications with nothing popping up. My last text from Jack was him saying goodnight to me last night.

None of us said good morning, but he knows that I'm going to be here. I didn't even text him a good luck.

I don't feel like it

I don't want to

I don't know why

Eden comes back but I decide to leave before the team comes out for warmups without saying anything to her.

I need to take a walk and that's exactly what I'm doing. The rush of people everywhere gives me a little anxiety but I have my AirPods on blasting music to block everything out.

If people who know who I am notice me- I hope they don't come up to me because I'm seriously not in the mood. My mask is on, hopefully I should be good.

The amount of times I've walked around the entire rock before heading back is too many to count considering I'm a fast walker. By the time I head back the game actually starts.

Jack and I make eye contact throughout the first period. I know he can't really read me and tired neutral expression I had the entire time. But I can tell he knew something's wrong.

By the end of the first period, the Flames have scored 4 goals with nothing from the Devils.

"Rory, seriously what's wrong?" Eden questions with concern and annoyance.

"Nothing, Eden just stop please"

"If you're gonna be a bitch might as well take another walk because I don't want that energy right now and you know that" she spits out.

I don't even walk to go wait for Jack or anything right now which is surprising.

I just read it and leave my seat. It's an off day that's all, seems like it and my energy is bringing everything around me down.

I avoid Jack's gaze whenever he would try to look at me once second period rolls in. The Devils finally scored and twice during third period.
