Love Like This

Good News

A/N: I always wondered how Spencer and Liv would tell their family that they were expecting... so here's a chapter that I never thought I was going to post.

They told Grace first, but she already knew. They took her out to lunch while Dillon was at school so that they could have some time for three of them. Spencer had held the door open for his mother and his wife. That was normal. He pulled out their chairs. That was normal too. When he went to the bathroom to wash his hands, he leaned down and kissed Olivia. That was normal, except his hand was on her stomach when he did it. Grace made sure not to give anything away, knowing that they really did want to tell her the good news themselves.

"We really brought you out so we could ask you something." Spencer said, holding hands with Olivia.

"Really?" Grace asked with her signature eyebrow raise.

"Do you have a preferred name for your grandchild to call you or should the baby choice?" Spencer asked while grinning at his mother.

Grace stood and instantly wrapped Olivia up in a hug before giving Spencer one of his own.

"Congratulations! How long have you two known?"

"About three weeks." Olivia admitted. "It's been so hard to keep it a secret, but we wanted to tell you first so now we can tell everyone else."

Grace smiled at the amazing people sitting in front of her, sometimes it was hard for her to believe that the two teenagers that were head over heels in love with each other were these adults, but she was so proud of them both.

They told Laura second, she cried like a baby. They waited until Billy was at work and went over to the house. She greeted them both and they all caught up before Laura started to get curious about the visit.

"Not that I don't love when you two stop by for a visit, but this seems different. What's going on?"

Olivia reached into her purse and handed her mother her 12-week sonogram. "I'm pregnant."

Laura cried and didn't stop crying for a while which made Olivia cry and seeing Olivia cry made Spencer tear up. They were one emotional group, but they never shied away from happy tears and that's exactly the kind of tears they were crying.

"Does Grace know? We have to figure out who's going to be called what name!" Laura said as she reached for her phone.

"She found out about 45 minutes ago and she's waiting for your call." Spencer said with a laugh, knowing that the soon to be grandmas were going to be glued to the phone from now on.

Billy found out third. They went to South Crenshaw and caught him during practice.

"That's Spencer James!" One of the players called out, causing Billy to turn and see not only his son-in-law but his daughter.

"Hey! What brings you two by?" Billy asked as he hugged them both.

"We wanted to talk to you if you have a second." Spencer said.

Billy quickly gave his team instructions and led them to the sideline where they could take a seat.

"What's up?"

Olivia handed her dad a t-shirt, "The best Dad's get promoted to Grandpa."

Billy was frozen. He couldn't tear his eyes away from that shirt.

"Dad? Are you okay?" Olivia asked gently.

Tears are what greeted Olivia and Spencer when he finally looked up again.
