Hope you all enjoy part two!

Quality Time

Olivia hated that damn playbook. It was always open, always being gazed at by her man, and if she was honest, it was starting to feel like the most important thing in his life. She'd normally roll her eyes and focus in on her work or sigh before going to sleep knowing that Spencer would be up before she woke in the morning with that book in his lap. This time she took a different approach. She padded into his bedroom and gently pushed his back so that he'd scoot forward on the bed, and she could sit behind him. Spencer had paused in his studying to see exactly what was going on with his girlfriend and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't a tad confused by her actions. Liv silently pushed at Spencer's shoulders, forcing him to lay back into her chest, she proceeded to play some soft jazz music as she ran her hands over his chest and arms. No complaints for that evil playbook tonight, her man was stressed out and her desire for his attention could be fulfilled in other ways tonight. She nudged him to continue his studying as she scrolled through her phone, if this is what he needed to do tonight, she would do her best to support him.

Gift Giving

Spencer wasn't the easiest guy to get gifts for. He wasn't huge on material things, he'd rather have something sentimental, and since Olivia knew her boyfriend better than almost everyone, she normally tried to accommodate that. She also knew that Spencer was normally the one in their relationship that would surprise her with the little things that she loved so when Liv matched his energy, she tended to outdo herself.

She'd spent weeks looking for the one thing she knew Spencer would love that he couldn't seem to find for himself. It involved her sneakily making calls to Ms. Grace to make sure that she was getting some of the miniscule details right and a massive amount of "overtime" at work. When the gift was finished, she made sure to set it up, so he'd see it when he came into his room after practice, she sat on the bed with her cellphone in hand, recording when he opened the door and saw the shadow box with all of his old football jerseys and newspaper clippings.

One look at Olivia told him that this is what she'd been doing with all her late nights at the office. She'd knocked it out of the park again, something special that money can't buy.

Words of Affirmation

It was rare that Spencer needed to be reassured. He was a naturally confident guy so when he panicked, it caused those around him to panic too. Jordan knew that the only way to calm Spencer down before their championship game was to break one of Coach Garrett's most sacred rules, he had to bring a girl down the tunnel towards the locker room. It didn't take much to convince Liv to come talk some sense into Spencer, that first half was painful, and she needed to see what was going on in Spencer's head.

Once she came around the corner, she could see that Spencer was pacing at the end of the hall, clearly overwhelmed by his feelings. Olivia closed the distance between them and held him close to her chest.

"You're thinking too hard. Yes, this is now the biggest game of your football career, but this is the exact same game you've been playing since you were six. You're allowing your fear to hold you back when it doesn't have to. It's still the same game, so go make six-year-old you proud. Everyone else already is."

Liv kissed his lips, pouring her support out physically before pulling away and flashing him that soft smile that was reserved for him.

He'd go on to win that championship game, and when asked about his performance turning around in the second half, he smiled that soft smile that only Liv gets to see before telling the reporter that he was reminded that he was still playing the same game he'd been playing since he was a child.

Acts of Service

Olivia was a very busy young woman but the beach house in the middle of football season, that was more chaotic than a freeway during rush hour traffic. Now Spencer was the chef in their relationship and Liv didn't really frequent the kitchen unless she absolutely had to but that afternoon, she'd gone downstairs to grab a water and saw that the boys were out of everything except protein powder and almond milk. Sighing at the sad sight of their kitchen, Liv quickly opened the Instacart app on her phone, she needed to feed her boys. She ordered all of their favorites, silently feeling bad for whoever was going to be picking up this order, before heading upstairs to shower and work on an article, hoping that the boys would appreciate the gesture.

When Spencer and Jordan pulled into their driveway, JJ and Asher were arriving home too. All four boys gave silent greetings before tracking up to the front door and shuffling towards the kitchen. JJ's eyes almost fell out of his head when he opened the pantry.

"Who went grocery shopping?" Asher asked in confusion.

Jordan opened the fridge and the freezer, completely floored that there was food inside.

Spencer saw a familiar handwriting on a sticky note that was on the counter.

"Got called into the office so I'll miss dinner. Hope you guys enjoy the surprise! -Liv"

Spencer showed the boys the note, all four of them grateful for their favorite journalist.

Physical Touch

Liv had come to realize that no two touches from Spencer James were the same. Some were soft like a gentle caress of the small of her back when passing her in the kitchen. Some were swift like the quick squeeze of her hand to reassure her. Some were slow like the way he moved her hair behind her ear when he wanted to look into her eyes. Some were passionate like the times that he took the time to physically break her down and then put her back together without fail. But her favorite touches were the ones that seemed unimportant. The feeling of his arm over her shoulders when they were on the couch for a movie night, the way he'd play in her hair when he was tired, even the way he would reach out to touch her before leaving the bed in the morning. Spencer's touch was always welcomed, it grounded her. So, what kind of girl would she be if she didn't bask in the opportunity to be loved on by her man.
