The next morning, she woke up to an empty and cold place next her. She couldn't be happier than right at this instant. She freshened up and grabbed some eggs, bacon and cheese.
"Good morning Mrs. Hales. My name is Yasmina, but you can just call me Yaya" Greeted a middle aged woman, in her early fifties with greying hair tied in a bun.
"Hello, please just call me Altagracia, it would be weird to call me like that when my mother-in-law lives here" She said and Yaya burst out laughing.
"Don't worry Altagracia, you are the only Mrs Hales in this house. Ms. Cheyenne is only powerful because she is the mother of the heir, but she never got married to this family" She explained and Altagracia's mouth formed an 'O'
"How do you know this?"
"I am the nanny of Elijah since he was a little boy and now, I take care of his daughter who is absolutely adorable" She said Altagracia smiled.
"Where is she?"
"Oh, she only comes home during weekends and holidays, other days she stays with her mother"
This explains the little girl room she saw upstairs. She smiled imagining what she could look like while doing her breakfast.
"Oh leave it, I can do it myself. Anyways I love cooking" Altagracia said and Yaya nodded going for her next chores. After eating her breakfast, she washed her plate, changed, played the piano for a while, and finally left the house. She was surprised to see her bright purple car in front of the parking and Ethan emerging from the driver sit.
"You've brought Lucy" She said hugging him.
"Yeah I brought her. Also, I wanted to mention how crazy you are to give objects names"
"Shut up!" She chided and he chuckled. Just when he was about to argue again, they heard her phone ring.
"Oh, it's grandma Mayra" She said and picked the call.
"Hello grandma"
"Hi darling, I was calling you to invite you for dinner at our mansion tonight with your husband. I tried to call him, but he doesn't pick. Can you inform him, please?" She asked pleadingly and though Altagracia didn't want to see her 'husband's' face today, she agreed.
"Yeah, I'll go to his office now then? At what time is it?"
"Be there by seven"
"Okay grandma, see you later" She said and hugged up. Ethan stared at her with a small smile.
"I guess you'll to go meet him?" She sighed deeply.

"You are fired. Collect your salary at the HR department and leave this place. Sharon, we need a new chief of advertisement department." Elijah ordered, while his secretary Sharon walked behind him, silently copying all his orders.
She was the secretary who had managed to stay the longest time next to him, not because she wasn't interested in him, but rather because she does baby steps. Caring about small details, and earning his respect first before catching the whale.
"Will that be all, Mr Hales?" She asked and he nodded, seating on his swivel chair.
"Yeah, and by the way, I don't want to be disturbed before my next appointment, you can deal with nobodies, right?"
"Yes sir, I'll take my leave now" She said and left the office. He started revising a few contracts he signed when he heard some commotion outside.
He didn't mind it because he knew Sharon could handle it and tried to concentrate, but the noise was just too much. He was about to call his assistant to know the fool who was causing all that ruckus when his door opened revealing his 'wife' as beautiful as ever, but with a frown on her face.
"Hello hubby" She said with a sweet smile. He forced a smile and indicated to Sharon that she could leave. She plopped on the couch next to his desk, staring at every centimeter of his office.
"I hope you didn't come here to sight-see?" He said snapping her out of her daze. She leaned nonchalantly on the couch, totally ignoring his question.
"Do you employ your personnel already rude, or you teach them?"
"I don't have time for you woman, speak and leave this place, what do you want? Money?"
"Why would I want your money?"
"I don't know, maybe because you're a gold digger"
"I wasn't coming here for that, dear Mr Hales, actually, your grandmother has been trying to reach you, but your rude ass fell too important to answer her calls. We are having a dinner tonight at their place at seven" She said smirking at him.
"Listen woman, respect is mutual"
"Respect my foot, you don't respect me at all, starting with the way you call me. I've got a name, you know, it's..."
"Shut up and leave now, you've finished relaying the message, I have work" He said but she didn't look like she was going to move anytime soon.
"Speaking about work, I'll like to have a job" He chuckled humorlessly while she stared at him puzzled.
"Women don't work in my family, and even if they did, I'll never let you find a job, you might start another scandal." He said and she glared at him. "Stop faking humility, I know you crave for my card, so I'll just give it to you" He said placing a black card on the desk.
"You're very stupid Mr Hales" She said turning her back on him, ready to leave when she was pinned harshly to the wall.
"Repeat what you just said woman"
"What, you're going to hit me, do it, but it won't change what I think about you, just like it won't change what you think about me, idiota " She said, their faces mere inches to each other. He smirked.
"So it's all about that huh? Just know that I'm never wrong, I always know what of person someone is at first glance, but your case is special. Before I saw you, I knew exactly what kind of...person you are. Now, leave my office and never come back here again to tell me foolish stuffs or insult me" He said and release her from his hold, when she was about to walk away her stopped her again.
"I'll pick you up by 6:30 pm, and one more thing, make sure you take my card before today ends, you won't have any other opportunities to have it."
"Push your stupid card as deeply as you can in your ass" She said a left his office. Little did they know that Sharon had been listening to their altercation.
