Cheyenne knelt in front of Altagracia, almost bowing to her.

"Stand up, what are you doing?!" She tried to pick Cheyenne from her kneeling position but this one stubbornly refused. "I-if you don't stand up, I w-won't listen to you" She stuttered, totally shocked by Cheyenne's doings. Cheyenne was still crying as she gradually stood up.

"It's better if you all sit down" Said Yaya who seemed to know what Cheyenne wanted to say. Edmund and Mayra sat with a frown, while Elijah pulled Altagracia in his arms.

Cheyenne breath deep, wiping her cheeks while Yaya pulled Amelia to the kitchen.

"Concerning my accident. It wasn't really one. At least not completely. Nadia and I had planned to get me into an accident, not a serious one. I had stolen Altagracia's credit card to pay a hitman and pretended I was her. We did everything in our power to make sure you'll know Elijah." Elijah stood up menacingly and glared at his mother.

"Just how heartless are you?!" He bellowed and Altagracia held unto him, calming him down. She too was mad at Cheyenne but composed herself and decided to listen. Both grandparents were glaring daggers at Cheyenne.

"Please continue" Asked Altagracia expressionless. Cheyenne nodded and cleared her throat.

"She called someone who gave us support. But the accident didn't go as planned. The hummer hit me like they really wanted to kill me. I ended up in the hospital half conscious. Even during my surgery I could somehow hear the people around me. I needed blood. I thought I was doomed when I lost consciousness. When I finally woke up, a doctor was next to me and smiled warmly at me.

"You were very lucky your daughter in law gave you her blood, she seems to love you very much, she didn't even hesitate to give you more than a liter. You have a very rare blood group" He told me and then I realized how heartless I had been to you. Despite the insults and the bullying. I am sorry. You don't have to forgive me, but I just wanted you to know that" Said Cheyenne ready to stand up when Altagracia stopped her.

"Who was that man who gave you support in this thing?"

"None of us knew his name but he had a thick Mexican accent"

Orlando Echeveria

"Thank you Cheyenne. Nothing bad has happened, so I forgive you. I just need to be alone for a while" Said Altagracia as she stormed out of the room. Elijah wanted to follow her but Mayra held unto him, shaking her head.

"You! Leave my domain and don't ever show your face here again" Bellowed Edmund and Cheyenne nodded leaving. Though what she did was bad, she felt some weight had been lifted off her shoulders from confessing the truth.

Yaya felt a little bit bad for her. Cheyenne had finally realized her errors. Being so close to death was an eye opener for her and she regretted everything she did.

"Cheyenne, wait. Take this" Said Yaya giving her an envelope heavy with money. She wanted to refuse but Yaya insisted. "Turn a new leaf and start afresh with this. You can refund me once you are stable if you want"

"Thank you so much Yasmina" She hugged her briefly and left the mansion.

On the other hand, Altagracia stood in the middle of the study room crying.

"Orlando Echeveria, can't you just leave me in peace?"

She knew exactly how he thought. He thought that if she had problems with Elijah, to the extent he will want to sue her, she will run to him for help.

"That despicable man. Can't he scratch on something sharp and die in a corner." She hollered in anger and accidentally threw some documents off the desk. She cursed and bent to pick them but found herself reading it. Her eyes gradually became blurry.

Two hours later,

Mayra was outside planning the set up of Edmund's birthday party, while Elijah was uneasy. Edmund against whom Amelia was nuzzling sound asleep turned towards his grandson.

"Why don't you sit down?" He asked but Elijah sighed.

"It's been long she is inside there. I'll go and check" He left his grandfather where he was. The latter chuckled and smiled at the figure of his sleeping great granddaughter.

"Your father is like a lovesick puppy. I hope he will give us other great grandchildren before we die"

Elijah knocked twice on the door, but heard no answer. He pushed the door opened and saw her on the floor with documents spread on the floor in front of her. He immediately recognized them, gulped and locked the door behind him.

She lifted her gaze to see him and tears poured down from her cheeks again.

"Altagracia, I'm..."

"I'm sorry Elijah." He was shocked by her words.

Elijah had made research on Altagracia and found out all the details of her life, all the unfairness she and her mother had been victim of ever since she was born. She was the mistress' daughter and after toying with her mother, his father left them. He had even completely forgot about her existence.

At the age of four, her mother had setup a small firm in New York, and it grew quite quickly. By the end of the year she was invited to the annual hosting of businessmen, and having nowhere to leave her insecure daughter, she brought her at the meeting.

A few local businessmen who were jealous of her success capture her daughter, willing to ask as ransom her firm which she would have obviously given for her daughter's life. But as the were about to start their blackmail, Barbara had complained to the people hosting the event, with tear filled face, ready to give everything for her daughter. His father was amongst those who volunteered to look for the little girl. He went in the forest with two other men and they separated, each searching on their side. He was the one who found the little girl first, terrorised and tired. She had managed to hold her tears and not cry.

He admire the courage she had at such a young age and carried her away. But as he was about to leave, one of the abductors panicked and shot him. It pierced through his right lung and he had trouble breathing. The other men with whom he was searching heard the noise and ran to the place, seeing a little girl, her light pink dress covered in blood as she shook him slowly,  but his breathing was too ragged.

"Don't die, kind mister" Was the last thing he heard before loosing consciousness.
