Chapter 24. Making out

She was still a little dizzy from the blood loss and she immediately fell. Mayra immediately rushed towards her. But before someone could speak, he pulled her from the floor with a cold glare.

"Leave this place before I beat you to death" He ordered and she held unto his arms.

"Elijah, hear me..."

"Shut up and leave this place. Disappear" He said and she shove her away, fortunately a nurse was walking by and caught her when she was about to fall and hit her head dangerously.

Tears welled up in her eyes and she could see the satisfied gaze of Nadia. He didn't even spare her another glance. Edmund started scolding him while Mayra chose to accompany her back.

Where did everything go wrong? Why does it seem like everyone suddenly chose to become my enemy?

"It's okay grandma, really, I'll just drive back." She said to Mayra.

"You can't drive back in your condition. When Elijah will calm down, I'll call you, okay?" Said Mayra and she smiled. She walked her to the Rolls Royce owned by Edmund followed by his army of body guards then her violet Renault Clio following behind them, driven by one of their body guards.

They parked in front of his villa and she stepped down from the car, thanking the driver and bodyguards before walking in the house with a forced smile.

"Mrs. Hales, I'm just done cooking the chicken curry, do you want some?"

"Sure, thank you Andrea" She said and sat at the kitchen counter. She ate, and though the food was delicious, she couldn't taste anything. She took a shower and looked at he reflection. She rubbed some cream on both her cheeks since she had received on both sides on the same day.

The worse was that, though he slapped her, she didn't hate him. All she wanted was to explain. But again, what could she explain when she didn't even know what she was accused of or how it came about.

She went downstairs and started playing a nostalgic tune on the piano, when someone called her and she picked up.

"Hola mi amor" He said and she immediately recognized the voice.

"I don't have time for you, Orlando, tell me something new or going hide your useless ass somewhere" She said. She didn't even have the strength to be scared.

"Something new like I managed to destroy your marriage"

"How you could destroy it if there was nothing to destroy in the beginning? But do you know what is funny? Is that despite everything you do, I'll never come back to you"

"Te atraparé tarde o temprano" (I'll have you sooner or later) He said and she got angry.

"Déjame en paz"( Leave me in peace) She said and hung up. She should think about changing her SIM card. But that will be later when she would wake up.

Back to the hospital,

"The surgery was a success. Ms Cheyenne is out of danger and might eventually wake up by tomorrow." Informed the doctor and Elijah felt like a stone had just been lifted from his heart.

Now he could try and think clearly but he saw Nadia still sticking to his side.

"You can go and rest and come back tomorrow" It was already quarter to seven and Nadia seemed tired.
