Elijah was squeezing his tennis ball in his hand when Steffen entered.

"Lock the door" He ordered and Steffen chuckled.

"This seems serious" He sat on the chair facing him while Elijah maintained his straight face and his eyes didn't lift for a split second. Steffen understood this was something serious and threw his carefree attitude in his pocket to use it again later.

"My old investigator is death, so you'll replace him. Make sure you don't get killed"

"Wait what? What's going on? Since when have you started again with such stuffs?"

"The stuffs came to me. So you're gonna do it?"

"Who killed him?"

"A certain Orlando Echeveria. I want you to search on him too"

"But you said he killed your former investigator" Asked Steffen in despair.

"Because I know you are more qualified than any investigator I know and your physically strong too. So, are you taking this mission yes or no?"

"Okay I'll do it, but don't say it as though we were in the military, it's weird, those days are behind me now"

"Stop wailing, you're not a kid. Search the root of my mother's accident, the mastermind and the pawns. Also about my wife. I believe most if not all of the pictures and videos were doctored. I need to know the relationship between her and Echeveria. If anyone interferes, kill him" He ordered and Steffen immediately stood up and was about to leave.

"Start with Sharon, I'll fire her today. Console her and try to find as many information as you can from her. I'm sure she was part of the plan. She lied about calling Altagracia." He said and Steffen left silently, ready to go and start his research.

"Who are you really Altagracia? Why are you really what you portray to be or are you what others think? Am I making an error?" He ran his fingers through his hair, sighing in frustration.

"Okay mum... Don't forget to greet doctor Ed for me" She teased and her mother blushed at the other end of the line.

"Since when have you become a tease Altagracia?" She hollered and heard her daughter giggle which didn't happen in a long time.

"I'm not teasing you, or is there something you haven't told me?" She asked and her mother got a lot redder. Doctors would have probably worried if they saw her with such skin tone.

"Someone is having a bad influence on you, I'm a hundred percent sure " She said and Altagracia chuckled again.

"Okay, I'll stop, I'll do my best to come and visit you soon"

"Great because I have something important to tell you"

"Important to tell me? Alright, will next month do?"

"Can't you come sooner than that? "

"Hum I'll try to free myself as soon as possible then, but it won't be before next week. Is there something I'll have to worry about?" Her mother was silent for a few minutes before saying.

"The doctors came for my treatment, I'll have to hang up. I love you baby" She hung up before Altagracia could answer. She felt a trace of nervousness in her mother's voice and was pondering about it when Maya entered her office.
