After the 'show', they joined his family members and he glanced at his watch.

"I have a late night meeting, I'll get going now" He said and didn't wait for Edmund's answer before disappearing in the crowd. Mayra sighed and sat with Altagracia.

"That grandson of mine is workaholic, I count on you make him change his focus on something more lucrative like, I don't know, giving us another great grandchild" She winked at Altagracia who blushed. "I was jesting my dear" She said with a small giggle.

"Oh, I almost forgot. Don't let yourself being bullied once you marry my son, not even the members of his own family. You're going to be Mrs Hales, an imposing figure in this society. This marriage is real, and it's in a week. Mayra will help you with the wedding planner."

"Don't forget that if you need anything, just call us or even better come over" Said Mayra and Edmund nodded solemnly.

"Thank you for your support, really I'm touched "

"Haha, no need to be so formal, we are a family now" Said Edmund and they all smiled. The reception went smoothly till the end and Altagracia went back with her family. They had a discussion over a small dinner and everyone retreated to their room. As soon as she was in her room, she combed her hair patiently before hearing a knock at the door.

"Come in" She said and she was so shocked when she saw Kenneth standing at the doorstep through the mirror . She turned to face him completely.

"I won't take too much of your time. I just wanted to say that I was sorry for the way I treated you. I haven't always being very mature and I'll like to start from afresh with you, just give me a second chance" He said with a pleading gaze and Altagracia blinked.

She was so surprised his speech that she just stared at him flabbergasted. Well she didn't want to think too much about it and instead smiled at him before nodding.

"It's alright " He immediately rushed towards her and circled his arms around her waist, hugging her. He felt her breasts pressing against his torso and smelled the scent of her hair. He parted and smiled before leaving after wishing her a goodnight.

Altagracia made her way to the mall. She was already incredibly late for her meeting with the wedding planner and Mayra all because of the annoying Olivia. In her rush, she bumped into someone and lost her balance to be caught by a pair of hands.

"I'm really sorry miss" Said a very familiar voice with a Mexican accent. "Altagracia?" She lifted her gaze to see someone she had not seen in more than five years.

"Sergio?"

"Qué estás haciendo aqui ? " They asked in unison. (What are you doing here?)

" Estoy organizando el matrimonio del vástago de Hales e includo conoceré a la futura novia" He said and she smiled awkwardly. (I'm here to organize the wedding of the scion of the Hales. I'll even meet the bride-to-be)

"Bueno, acabas de conecer a la futura novia" She said and he stared at her wide eyed. (Well you've just met bride-to-be)

"Santa mierda, ¿Como? ¿Cuando? ¿Dande?" (Holy shit, how? When? Where?) He asked and she chuckled. Before she could answer, Mayra came and dragged them both away.

"I've been waiting for you two. What are your favourite colors darling?" She asked and Altagracia smiled.

"Red, white, yellow" Sergio said and Mayra frowned.

"You know each other?"

"Yeah, Sergio was my best friend back in Mexico." She said and Mayra nodded with a smile.

"Great, it will make everything easier, since he knows what you like" She said and they all laughed.

Exactly three days before the wedding ceremony, Altagracia was lying on the couch with her head on Sergio's lap in his loft. She had narrated everything to him and at the end he stared at her with a unreadable expression.

"Altagracia Yelena Parker, I know you like the back of my hand, what is the real reason behind this deal?"

"What are you talking about?" She asked pretending not to understand.

"Drop the act with me, spill the beans " He said and she smiled sadly, her eyes becoming teary.

"Orlando, right?" He queried.

"Just mentioning that bastard's makes me want to puke" She said gritting her teeth to bite back her tears. Before they knew it, a guy barged into his apartment as cool and collected as ever, but his gaze was full of deadly promises. He glanced at their actual position before glaring at Sergio.

"I thought you were the wedding planner and not the guy who heats up my wife when I'm not there"

"Elijah..." She said standing up but he glared at her, making her freeze on the spot.

"You follow me, we are going to my place, now!" He ordered and that made her snap out of her daze.

"Can't it wait till the wedding night?" She asked and he glared at her again.

"No"

"Who do you think you are for barging into his house like a freaking mafia boss and trying to take me away?" She asked and he chuckled darkly.

"By accepting my marriage proposal, you agreed to be mine, I'm just watching over my properties" He said and she glared at him.

"You arrogant asshole, do you think I'm just some kind of object?"

"Dude, I think..." Started Sergio to be cut off by a menacing glare.

"Who are you 'duding' poor idiot?" He said and turned towards Altagracia. "You have three seconds to be out of the loft before I get pissed" She crossed her arm under her chest, making it a little more busty, lifting her chin defiantly.

"What will you do?" She asked and before she had the time to process it, she was on his shoulder with her face to his back.

"What the hell, drop me down Elijah" She screamed but it fell on deaf ears. He threw her in the passenger seat and walked to the opposite side before climbing and starting the car.

"Fasten your seatbelt" He said but she ignored him. "Stop being childish"

"Between you and I, who is the childish one? I'll start considering your suggestions when you'll stop patronizing me" She said and he cursed under his breath before grabbing the seatbelt and fastening it. His hand feathering over her breasts sending shivers down her spine.

He started the car and the ride was very silent and she started humming softly a song she loved while her face was glued to the window.

Dusk till down

"You're making way too much noise" He said and she was dumbfounded.
