51 | The Winner, The Loser

"You seem excited Rindou." Ran smiled with his weapon over his shoulder.

"Let's show them what we're capable of."

Angry and Hakkai slowly stepped back. "Those two are pretty troublesome..."

"The perfect combination."

Not only that, but Hakkai and Angry weren't the greatest duo in the world. Actually, it was a bit like mixing gum and hair; you don't.

Rindo sped over, ready to break Angry's leg to match his arm, but Hakkai suddenly jumped in, leaving and opening for Ran to whack Angry in the face. And just as that happened, Rindo locked with Hakkai's leg and brought him to the ground.

"I'm very used to hearing the screams of pain as I bend joints, you know?" Once Rindo said that, Ran appeared behind Hakkai and raised his weapon, mimicking the hit he did on Angry. "No coordination."

"Just as I was able to read Rindo's movements... try to get the hint, Hakkai!"

"You were reading his movements? You should've told me!"

Takemichi stared for a while. Is this... what the gang is like without a strategist?!

The two sighed. "If only Yuzuha/Smiley were here... they would've understood." There heads snapped towards each other.

Chifuyu stared and watched them argue, mid-battle nonetheless, and his jaw dropped. "No... that's why they were never paired together for anything! They're.. the baby of the family!"

Takemichi felt like he was supposed to sit down to take it in for a moment, despite being in a fight with Kakucho. The baby of the family? Spoiled, irresponsible, pampered? That really applies in gang fights, too?

Angry and Hakkai were thrown to the ground by the Haitani brothers who, unlike them, were quite in sync.

"Next time bring your big brother, you dependent chicks."

"Just hide behind your big bro's shadows."

The Haitani brothers turned their backs towards the two. In their eyes, this battle was pitifully finished.

"...The Haitani brothers are really strong." Hakkai pointed out, even though it was really obvious. Angry agreed. "If only Smiley were here..." He staggered to his feet. "But there's no point in thinking that now."

"You're a mooch, aren't ya?"

"So are you.. always hiding behind your sister."

Hakkai chuckled. "Two of a kind, huh?"

They both stood up straight, clenching their fists. "Hold it right there, you two!"

Rindo and Ran turned back and saw the two on their feet. Even after a hit to each of their heads, they stood with their arms around each other's shoulders. "We are the baby of the family!"

"...Huh?"

"We'll show you the power of relying on others!"

"Hey, Smiley, is something wrong? You seem to be spacing out."

Smiley looked to Mitsuya for a moment before shaking his head. "Nah... nothing's wrong. I just remembered something." His smile seemed genuine, a sight to behold to say the least. "Ever since that day, he always tags along with me, that guy."

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"Angry. I wonder if he'll be okay. He's probably crying right now."

Mitsuya laughed a bit. "You're being too overprotective. But don't worry about. Those guys are damn strong!"
