"Y/N!" Mitsuya snapped in front of you and you blinked. "Sorry, what's going on?"

"You totally blanked out right now. You're supposed to be waiting for Mikey and Draken."

"R-Right!" You swam through the crowd and sat in front of the shrine, twiddling with your fingers. It's the Second Division Commander nomination ceremony. Who the hell was even nominated?

You searched through the crowd to see if there was anyone that seemed new. Nobody as far as you could... "Who... is that?" There was a towering boy with dark hair and a cold glare.

"Tsu-chan, come here for a sec." Mitsuya walked up and leaned down so you could whisper in his ear. "Who's the tall, new guy over there?"

"Um, not sure, actually. Mikey just told me to make a uniform for him and his buddy."

"His buddy?" You stared for a moment. "Is his 'buddy' two feet tall? Where is he?"

"Y/N, you know that half of our gang is taller than your average middle schooler."

You waved your hand dismissively and he walked back into the small crowd just as the three that you were waiting for walked in.

"Took you long enough." You said, standing up.

"Sorry, we were having a bit of fun."

"In a bathhouse?"

"Yep!"

You face palmed and walked up the steps so you stood to the right of Mikey, a few steps behind him. You let your hands hang from your pockets, but your eyes were fixated on the tall new guy. He looked awfully familiar.

"Third Division Commander! Step forward?"

You made a hand signal to Takemichi to tell him to wait a moment. You've gone through many of these nominations, and often time it's someone that's really only of Mikey's choice.

The crowd dispersed around the tall guy and your heart dropped.

He looked younger, shorter, and maybe even slightly more friendly looking. But you knew who it was. Tetta Kisaki.

You stared at him as he walked up with his "buddy" and sat down in front of you, his back facing you, Mikey, and Draken. While it was disrespectful, that's not what you were focused on.

Him. The person Draken wanted to kill. The person Naoto wanted to kill. The person... that you wanted to kill.

You clenched your fist so tightly that it shook.

"Mikey... why did I not know about this?" You asked slowly. He looked over at you. "I thought you don't care about who's appointed? Even if you did, you can kick their ass if they're annoying you."

Oh, I want to do more than kick this guy's ass. Would hitting him with a train do?

"What the hell's a guy from Moebius doing here?" Someone in the crowd questioned. "They tried to kill Draken-kun, remember?"

They began chanting to get rid of Kisaki, and you were so close to chanting along with them. But you knew that the past you wouldn't do that, so you didn't either.

"Shut up! If any of you've got a problem with the leader's decision, then step up!"

"Ken-chan." You gave Draken a serious look, then faced the crowd. "I understand your concern, but as it is Mikey's decision, we must all trust his judgement. We are going against a powerful gang, and as such, we will need powerful members. Should Kisaki prove that he is against Toman..." You gave Kisaki a threatening glare. "He shall get what's coming to him. Deal?"

"Yes M'am!"

"Good. Come now." You spared a glance at Takemichi and turned around, following Mikey.

"Commander!"

You put your hand on Mikey's shoulder to signal for him to stop, turning your head to look at Kisaki.

"Thank you very much!" He bowed.

You saw Takemichi behind him and your eyes widened, watching Takemichi speed over and...

"M-Mitchy-chan!"

Were you fighting the urge to clap and congratulate him? Very much. But you knew that it would just cause more trouble.

You stifled a laugh and stood up straight.  Before Draken could begin yelling at Takemichi, you said, "Draken, allow me to speak to him." Draken backed off, knowing that you were serious when you used their actual names rather than what you normally call them.

You stood in front of Takemichi, shielding him from the approaching commanders of each division. "Back off. That's an order."

They also stopped in their tracks, standing up straight in an organized assembly in front of you.

Takemichi nearly flinched. You were the youngest in Toman as far as he was concerned, but you simply telling the members to stop made them listen like dogs to their owners.

"Takemichi, I understand that you have some... obligations to Kisaki becoming a commander in Toman. It's understandable, especially because it seemed like you were roped into anything against your will. However, I ask you to refrain from letting personal feelings get roped into this as well."

He nodded slowly. You were so different from how you normally were when you stood in the place of the strategist of Toman.

"Kisaki." You stood in front of him, and while he was taller, you definitely made it look like you were looking down on him. "You may be third division commander. But I will remind you: it doesn't matter what your position was in Moebius. Here, you are beneath Mikey, Draken, and I. Understand?"

He nodded as well and you stepped back. "Thank you for being on the same page as me."

"Ooh, was I missing something?"

You turned to the commanders and saw Baji push through them. "Y/N sounds really serious, huh? The hell did this newbie do?" He stared at Takemichi and you crossed your arms. "And what are you planning on doing?"

"Nothing." Immediately after saying that, he tried punching Takemichi in the face, but you caught his fist in your palm. "Nothing, huh?"

He pulled his fist away. "This place is a downer. I'm leaving and joining Valhalla."

You and him made eye contact and had a sort of mutual understanding as he spun around and left.

"Baji!"

"Just leave it, Mikey." You shook your hand. "That's just how he is." You let your gaze fall on Kisaki, who had a suspicious grin on his face.

"Face or gut?" He asked Takemichi. Takemichi gave a confused glance. "Uh... g-gut?" Kisaki punched him square in the face. "I guess you just stiffened your gut, didn't you?"

"Kisaki." You stood in front of him. "You are dismissed." Kisaki looked at Mikey, who nodded, and he left with his subordinate.

You sighed. "I need to go. Sorry if I was being complicated today." Mikey shook his head. "You should take charge more. It makes you look badass."

"Whatever you say, commander." And you walked off.

You stepped down the sidewalk, watching your steps go in and out of your vision as you looked down. Kisaki's in the gang now... that's how he got so close. And with Baji joining Valhalla, there's another free spot. From what I can tell, the reason Baji died was because Kisaki pulled some strings.

You lifted your head. "It feels wrong to drag Mitchy into another problem. But something tells me... he already knows."
