"Y/N-" Emma paused, seeing Draken in your room reading out one of your manga to you while you listened. "Hey Emma!"
"Y-Y/N!"
You looked back and forth between the two and took the book from Draken's hands. "Draken, why don't you go with Emma?"
"Huh? Why?"
You smacked him with your book and placed it on your side table before taking a flower from the vase and placing it in his hand. "Looks like you've gone over your visiting time, haha..." Taking his collar, you pulled him towards you. "Don't you dare make a girl confess to you, you asshole."
He stood up straight and looked at Emma, who was still standing by the door with a flushed face. "...You're annoying."
"I'm always right, so buzz off."
You watched the two walk out and smiled, glancing at the book in your lap. All you could remember from that reading session was how small the book was compared to Draken's large hands, and you could barely comprehend what he was reading.
Maybe your mind wasn't as clear as you thought.
There was a knock on the door and it slowly creaked open. You furrowed your brow, seeing an unfamiliar face walk through the door. He had a bandage that was likely wrapped around his chest poking out from his jacket and a scar across the side of his head.
"H-Hello...?"
"For someone who was always known for her amazing memory, I'm a bit disappointed that you look so confused."
You stared at him for a bit longer. "Well damn, sorry some crazy man decided that he'd try to kill my best friend." Then you realized who it was. "Wait.. you're... uh, Kakucho, right? One of the Four Heavenly Kings of Tenjiku?"
"There you go." He walked up to your bed and sat on the stool. "Izana told me about you a lot. He said you were really kind and smart and strong and.." He stared at the ground. "He really considered you his younger sister."
Kakucho looked up and noticed your blank expression. He had expected you to be choking up or crying, but you just looked... confused. He put his hand on your head. "You might not be able to remember properly... and no one has the money to pay for his funeral, but here. Izana said he wanted to give you a Christmas gift in person."
A box was placed on your lap, small and light. You slowly opened it and saw a small necklace. It didn't look familiar, but you felt like it was such an important thing.
"Are you always going to give me necklaces, Izana-nii-chan?"
"Do you not like it?"
"No, I love it! I'll show this new one to Shi-nii-chan!"
You felt tears sting your eyes and you closed the box. "Kakucho..." He paused in the doorway and turned, his eyes widening a bit once he noticed tears streaming down your cheeks. "I'll pay for the funeral. When do you want it to be?"
"...This weekend is fine."
"Wait..." You slowly dragged your foot on the floor and staggered towards him, immediately feeling dizzy and falling into his arms. "Hey, careful!"
"Could you... help me put it on?"
He nodded and slowly lifted you up, almost as if you were a cat, and placed you back on the bed. "You didn't have to get up if that's all you needed."
"I just wanted to see if I could stand properly."
"It hasn't even been a week. Besides, you can barely turn your head without getting dizzy." He put the clasps together and moved his hands. "There." You looked down at the gem now hanging around your neck on a gold chain with gold beads, and smiled. "Thank you..."
