"I gotta show you something." Camilo says, looking at me sideways and hurrying us to the second floor. We walked upstairs, hand in hand and I couldn't help but smile, seeing him light up like a child.

"What is it? Another book?" I asked with a hint of curiosity in my tone. Camilo thought about it and looked over his shoulder at me,

"Mm, no? I think this is better." He admits and Camilo continued to tug me to a corner of his room where a ladder leaned against a wall, leading up to a trapdoor-like latch on the ceiling in which only a single body could go up at a time. My heart jerked,

We're climbing up to the roof...

"Follow me." He says in a hushed voice and released my hand to grab onto the wooden ladder and climbed up. "Careful, the ladder might feel wobbly but it'll be fine." He throws me a reassuring smile. I nodded and climbed behind him. Camilo unlocks a latch and pulls himself up in order to quickly turn to me to outstretch his hand. I smiled, taking it in mine.

"You came at the perfect timing." He exclaimed,

"Why is that?--" I asked, as we tightened our hands around one another and he pulled me up but enough to where our faces were centimeters away. My eyes widened as I stared into his flirtatious ones. Camilo grins and nods his head to the right of me where the sun was sitting in the sky effortlessly.

"It's golden hour." He simply replied and eventually lifted me so that I climbed out. The two of us carefully crawled to a perfect spot before settling down next to one another. On this part of the roof, we were facing away from the village. The mighty hills and mountain tops were glazed with the sun's rays. The forest beyond them were like patches of bushes scattered far and wide.

This was our second secret hideout.

Before I could breathe out a compliment about the scenery, Camilo spoke first.

"Y/n?" Camilo began and hesitated to meet my eyes. I watched as he toyed with the hems of his yellow striped pancho. "I know this isn't my problem, and that I should just keep my nose out of people's businesses but... This has been bothering me for quite some time." He says with animated expressions as if to say that he regrets trying to bring this conversation up. Fumbling over his words and figuring out how to phrase whatever he was going to say, I chuckled in order to make him stop and think. It worked. His ears perked at the gentle noise next to him.

"What? I'm babbling, aren't I?" He asks and I nod,

"Hey," I said reassuringly, "take your time. I'll be here all afternoon." I smiled and his eyes flickered,

"Really?" His voice filled with excitement and I thought about what I said before giving it a second thought.

"Well, maybe not all afternoon." I corrected and he threw me a small grin as if to say, we'll see about that.

I cleared my throat and turned my attention to the golden view sitting before us. "Anyway, you had something to ask?" I reminded and Camilo nods.

"... Yeah, um, why were you crying the other night? You know, when I found you in your towel?" He asked hesitantly and he gave me an apologized look. I was honestly shocked that that was his question.

That really bothered him? That was weeks ago-- maybe a month ago? I honestly thought he forgot it or brushed it off since he didn't bring it up before.

I felt his eyes staring at the side of my face. I couldn't meet his eyes. Maybe because now that I think about that situation with Papa, the more I realize that I'll be okay. The more I realize that I acted childish in front of Papa regardless of my age. I hadn't thought that I went quiet for a while until Camilo breathed in through his teeth,
