"How are you feeling?'
"Like shit, but better,"
"Yeah, you were pretty drunk last night,"
"When can the cast come off?"
"Four to six weeks, but I'd like to see you next week to check out the concussion,"
I huffed as I started to open my eyes, seeing Ashton and Zach awake and talking. "Good morning, sleepy head," Ashton joked and I yawned, stretching my arms out.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"It's nine," he answered, making my eyes widen.
"Crap, I have school," I shot up.
"Relax, I'll give you a doctor's excuse for today," Ashton offered and I smiled gratefully at him. "You are free to go though once you sign these papers," Ashton handed Zach some papers. He exited for a minute, so I went over and stood by Zach, briefly reading through the papers.
"Fill out the insurance again there," I pointed at the box.
"What is it?" he asked. I pulled the card out of the wallet and handed it to him."You have an out of pocket fee for $200, check to have it billed so we can get the money," I explained and he nodded. I watched him fill out some stuff, explaining other things he would need to know as well. Once it was filled out, I looked up and saw Ashton standing in the room, clearly confused but also concerned on why I was explaining the paperwork. Luckily Zach was completely oblivious and handed him the clipboard back with a smile.
"Here you go, Doc," he smiled.
"Thank you, I'll see you next week," Ashton said and Zach nodded, hopping out of bed. I grabbed my bag and started to follow Zach out, but Ashton quickly slipped me a piece of paper.
"Call or text me if you need anything, ok?" he said and I nodded with a small smile.
"I will, thank you," I thanked him and he nodded. Zach and I exited the hospital and walked down the sidewalk home. When we entered, Nate was there and passed out. Cigarettes, weed, and empty bottles of alcohol scattered the room.
"What the fuck, without me?" Zach kicked Nate's sleeping body, making him groan.
"Fuck off," he mumbled.
"Why the fuck did you party without me?" Zach questioned.
"Cause you were in the fucking hospital, we'll finish tonight," Nate mumbled.
"We better," Zach muttered. I rolled my eyes and went into the kitchen.
"You two do know we need $200 to pay for that hospital trip, right?" I questioned as I grabbed a bottle of apple juice.
"We'll get it, chill," Nate promised.
"We better because this is serious," I said. "None of us have been to the hospital in like four years," I reminded them.
"Cause we're healthy,"
"No, because we don't have the money," I corrected.
"We'll be fine," Zach chuckled. "We always find a way,"
"I hope so," I mumbled.
