You and Dream are standing in the elevator: him with his back almost against the wall faced towards the doors and you in a corner near the door, not even willing to look at him, although you make sure to keep him in your vision anyway. You watch as the screen behind him shows the numbers of the floors you pass, wondering how long you'll have to wait. At first, you had insisted on just taking the stairs, since you didn't feel comfortable being in a closed room with the android. But considering you've already passed twenty-nine floors, you're happy that Dream insisted on taking the elevator anyway. Now his reasoning makes sense.

Yet, you hate him. You fucking hate him. You wish he hadn't given you a reason to hate him. The interactions you had before with him, weren't all that bad. If anything, they were comforting. But then he had to go all crazy or something. Was it something that you'd done, perhaps?

"How many floors left?" you ask Dream in a sentence that isn't grammatically correct, but you're too busy with making sure he's not going to try anything.

"Around eighty-seven," he responds and you nod. For a moment, you lose your mind in the clouds that you're getting closer to as well. Your mind is so distracted, that you can't even hear Dream's question. So, when he's done speaking, you say just one thing.

"Fifteen."

"Excuse me? That is not an answer to my question, Y/N. Although, I am interested in what you're trying to tell me now."

"Fifteen. You missed the number fifteen right before breaking my phone, asshole. Instead of typing 'LOVE', you typed 'LVE' instead. And don't pretend like you have no fucking idea what I'm talking about either." Instead of confirming or denying that he knows what you mean, he just stares. You can see the two green lights that represent his eyes looking at you and you feel so uncomfortable right away. It's like you're standing in front of a class, having to do a speech that you've barely properly prepared, anxious to embarrass yourself in front of these people. Only difference is that at least your classmates don't break your shit. "Well? What do you have to say to that, huh, Dreamie?" You spit those words out with pure hatred, but Dream still doesn't respond. He just tilts his head. And after a bit, he finally speaks up.

"Did you know that there aren't any cameras in the elevator? The elevators and the bathrooms are the only places where there aren't." Once he's spoken those words, you look at him weirdly.

"No, I didn't. But I am fucking creeped out right now, thank you." The elevator stops, yet the doors don't open. For a moment, you feel like you're about to panic again. Did it break? Did Dream stop it? Is this supposed to happen?

Dream takes one step forward and you instinctively want to get further away from him, which is not possible. So, you put up your hands defensively. "Don't fucking try anything, dickhead," you threaten. "I won't hesitate to beat the shit out of you." Dream stands still again. God, this asshole is impossible to read. Well, it makes sense. He is a robot after all. A machine, created and programmed by Wilbur Soot. But this doesn't mean that you shouldn't be able to guess something based on his way of acting, right?

"Y/N. Listen. I don't know what you think happened, but I'm certain that this is all just a misunderstanding. What about we just solve this one to one? The problem is not the phone, as you already said. So, why try to fix that?" The way that he looks at you makes you feel so small, no matter how tall or short you actually are. You just want to curl up into a ball and isolate yourself from this world. Away from Dream. Away from worries. Away from regret. He takes another step forward, so there's only the length of an arm between the two of you now. "Why don't we just talk about this? Don't take me wrong: I'd love to show you around the building and have you sleeping here for a night, but I also want to help you and I think that talking about this will work better."
