The sound of the water in the shower falling on the ground is even audible from in your room, where you're just cuddling with your cat on your bed. After you and Techno had gotten something to drink, you had quickly come to realize that Techno, whether he liked it or not, needed a shower and some clean clothing. At first when you suggested it, he refused and complained that he didn't think he'd fit in your clothing because he was literally built different. However, you thankfully had a bit of clothes in his size that you thought would undoubtedly fit him, especially if he turned on the human-illusion again.

When he saw the clothing, he started whining even more, about how he didn't want to ruin his reputation by walking around in clothing with a cartoon character on it, even wondering why you even had clothes like this, but you will never tell him of the story of your first time shopping online, when you accidentally bought these clothes in the biggest size.

You were such an idiot as a teenager.

Still are.

Anyway, after a lot of arguing, you managed to simply shove him in the bathroom with the clothing and threatened that you would roast him alive if he didn't come out clean. You refuse to throw a murderer out of your house when he's still covered in blood and mud and he didn't get caught because you offered him your aid.

Or maybe you should. Maybe you should've just thrown him out the night he arrived here. Or you should have done so when he still had the blood and mud on his clothing. But no, that would have made you a terrible person and you've forgiven him already, right? Or are you still angry at him? Should you still be angry at him?

As the mostly intrusive thoughts are swimming around in your brain, you're unaware of the shower that stops and the door of the bathroom that opens. Instead, you just keep petting Sherlock without paying any attention to it. Doubt and anxiety are swirling behind your eyes and the only thing that gets you out of it, is Techno calling your name. He's standing in the door opening and you look up at him, seeing that the clothing doesn't look as terrible as it could've. The blood and mud is nowhere to be found on his human-body now and you sit up right.

"Did you shower with the illusion still on?" you ask and he shakes his head.

"No, but what I look like without it doesn't matter, since that's not what they'll see." When you hum as a sign that you understand, he tilts his head and comes to sit down next to you. "Say, uh, I've been thinking about this, but uh, do they know? Wilbur and Tommy? About me, I mean?"

"Yeah," you simply respond and he mumbles something under his breath which you can't understand. He awkwardly scratches the back of his neck and looks away from you.

"Thanks. For helping me, I mean. I, uh, I appreciate it, I guess."

"Yeah," you simply respond, unsure of what else to say. "I'm going to Quackity's new casino or gamble-company or whatever this afternoon, so you really can't stay much longer." Even during your little catching up, your old friends have not even once been talked about. And well, Techno doesn't seem to happy either to simply have to think of the man who he once injured.

"Quackity and gambling is a good combination, I suppose," he simply answers, another silence overtaking you for a moment until he continues. "He still has the scar, doesn't he?"

"Yeah. Yeah he does. He doesn't like it, though."

Techno chuckles. "Of course, he doesn't. It's the proof that he once lost from me, after all."

"Did he really lose, though?" The two of you continue talking for a bit, going downstairs and continuing your talk there. After a bit of hesitation, Techno even asks you to consider joining the Syndicate, even though you already know you have no business with them. Yet, you appreciate the offer and keep it in the back of your mind. You'd still like to know who they are, after all.
