A/N: I started losing ideas for how to name the chapters, so I've changed it up a little. I'm still experimenting with it, so apologies for it!

"I thought you'd never ask," you respond with a grin, taking his hand into yours as he leads you onto the dance floor. You know that it might not be a good idea. After all, you rejected Dream, but you don't reject Eret. But really, you feel like you're justified in your action, for once.

Eret helps you forget about it all. He helps you forget about your problems and the people causing those and well, you're just happy to have someone you know you can rely on. Dancing with him feels so carefree. You keep wondering whether or not it was a mistake, but it feels so goddamn amazing. There's a certain bond that keeps the two of you together. A bond that neither of you can explain. A knowledge that both of you have done harm to people in the past and that both of you wish to get rid of the guilt. While Eret hurt those people in a less physical way, you know how his credibility has been damaged ever since that and how barely anyone was ever going to forgive him so easily, even if you don't know the details of what people refer to as 'betrayal'.

But in any case, dancing with Eret was the best decision for you that you could have ever made. Mx. Suit and Mx. Dress, simply having fun without having to be concerned about anything.

Not yet, at least.

The music flows through your veins and controls you in a way that you won't ever understand. It feels so calming, though. For a moment, there's nothing in the world other than the rhythm of the music playing.

"Your faith was strong, but you needed proof."

The words of a song that are memorized in the back of your mind, giving you the urge to sing with it as well. The sound of the piano – which sound like it comes from an actual piano there, rather than a recording – making you move with the music in a way you've never done before.

"You saw her bathing on the roof. Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you."

You don't even know what's happening. You don't even know what you're doing. All that you know, is that you're free. Just for a few minutes, you're free of your thoughts. Free of your worries. And just free of everything in the world.

"She tied you to a kitchen chair. She broke your throne, she cut your hair."

Together with Eret, you sing a bit of the song. The parts that you know, at least.

"And from your lips, she drew the Hallelujah."

Even if you're not happy, just as expected, you're at least not feeling as terrible either. As much as you wish that Sally could be here and as much as the guilt is still eating you up inside, you're thankful for Eret's presence. He really is a great friend.

And well, there are quite some eyes on the two of you. It doesn't happen every day, after all, that Eret dances with a stranger on a festival. Some people are watching out of curiosity, while others are judging you in silence. While some are rather uninterested, other are jealous. Although, you're not sure of whom.

When the song stops playing and the lights get a bit brighter, you almost drop Eret due to startling. Because while you're holding him above the ground, frozen in place, you make eye contact with Eret's father himself: Herobrine. You have no idea what is hidden behind those eyes, but the leader of the country seems to be deep in thought.

Nobody is focused on Herobrine, though.

Especially not when one of his co-leaders walk in.

Steve.
