T/W: Description of corpse, blood

Schlatt
Hello there
You're needed at work
According to Connor we might've had a break-in so I'll open the doors so you can check It out
Why do I have to check it out?
Because you're the security guard
Fair
Any ews form Jared/
What?
Any news from Jared?*
No, sorry kid
I'll let it know as soon as there is
The doors of the Manseum are open by the way but none of the lights are on yet, so you'll have to do that yourself
You can at least go in and turn them on
I can, yes, but I won't
Because you're the security guard
Good luck
Great

After letting out a loud sigh, you put your head on Sam's table annoyedly. You already knew Schlatt was going to open the Manseum for you to do a check-up, but you're used to Jared being there.
It's going to be a lot more boring without him to keep you company.
"You okay?" Sam's voice gets you out of your thoughts and you groan out of annoyance, sitting up straight again. Having done this, you also stand up from the chair, drinking the last bit of tea until there's nothing left.
"I'm fine," you comment with a shrug, "but I have to go to work now. Do you mind driving?"
"I thought you'd start later today."
"I would. But there's been a change of plans. I hope you don't mind?" Sam looks hesitant to respond to your question, but after some deep thinking, he shrugs as well.
"I don't really think my opinion matters in this case," he comments and you agree. His opinion indeed doesn't really matter, because you're going to have to work anyway. He also stands up and puts your empty cup along with his own in the kitchen, after which the two of you leave his house with the Sklergons still working in his basement. "I really hope nothing bad is going to happen with those things in my house," Sam mumbles and you roll your eyes while getting in the car.
"Why do you people always have to assume that things you don't understand are inherently evil? I've had more humans – or at least, humanoids – harm me than Sklergons. Not a single Sklergon has hurt me, in fact."
"Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't happen."
"That's not my point like at all. I'm telling you to stop being such a pussy." As much as Sam wants to be offended, he can't. Which makes it a lot harder to insult him, unfortunately. So, with yet another sigh, you sit down and remain silent while Sam drives you to the Manseum.
Once you've arrived there, you open the door and thank Sam, who's reluctant to let you go in there. "Be careful," he eventually says, after which he allows you to leave. You wave as he drives away again, leaving you there with nothing other than your coat, phone and the Manseum, waiting for you to enter it.
