Sharanya stepped into the room to find Nikhil rummaging through the contents of the side table drawers.
"Looking for something?" She asked, stopping beside the table.
"Pen drive. The black and red one with the white string around it. I don't remember where I kept it."
Sharanya walked to her cupboard, opened a draw and retrieved the USB drive he was talking about. "I found it under the bed yesterday," she said turning around, walking back to where he stood.
Nikhil stared at her tight lipped and nodded. "Uh, it probably fell off the bed."
Sharanya smiled and held it for him to take.
Nikhil was about to reach it when she pulled it away. "How can you be careless about a pen drive?" Nikhil's eyes met hers.
"You want to fight again?" Nikhil asked, taking a step closer to her, totally invading her personal space. He took the USB drive from between her fingers while maintaining the eye lock.
"No," Sharanya uttered, nervous due to the sudden closeness.
Nikhil leaned closer, his nose almost about to touch hers.
Sharanya parted her lips slowly, sucking in some air. Her gaze moved from his eyes to his lips. Nikhil's fingers gently rested below her chin. He slowly turned her face sideways kissing her cheek. He didn't hurry it. He was nothing but slow. His lips lingered on her cheek.
Sharanya lowered her gaze, a swift blush colouring up her cheeks, when he pulled back. She slowly turned her face towards him. Steadily her gaze climbed up to meet his.
His breaths were long. He leaned closer. Just in time, Sharanya placed her hand against his t-shirt. "Uh, walk? We can go down today."
Nikhil slowly distanced his face from hers. He had got a little carried away. "Yeah, walk sounds good."
"Yes, the weather rises so pleasant!" She said awkwardly as she pulled her hand away. Passing a forced smile to him she looked away and then slowly turned and walked away to fetch her socks.
Frankly, she was terrified, anticipating physical intimacy. She had no clue how she had gone all the way to getting in bed with him, naked the other night. She didn't feel so conscious as she felt today on that night. Things had escalated naturally that night. But tonight, her brain knew it was coming eventually and she was scared.

Their fingers brushed as they walked around the apartment park. The park was closed, so the usually noisy area of the apartment was quiet and serene.
When his fingers brushed against hers randomly again, she held it. The corners of Nikhil's lips lifted a little at that.
A few people were walking around just like them.
"How was your day?" Sharanya asked.
"Not so good." He answered honestly. He didn't know why he felt so nice when she asked that.
"Because we fought in the morning?" She quizzed, peeping inside the park through the wrought iron fence.
"Yes," He admitted, drifting his gaze to her.
