Sharanya stared at him as they moved away. She couldn't explain how she felt in words. It was like an awakening to the woman inside her. His fingers slowly caressed her cheek as he pulled away. That was one hell of a kiss. She didn't know their first time could be so satisfying. She didn't even know if she had done it right. But it felt right.
She took in a deep breath as his gaze refused to look away from her. His light caress on her cheeks was causing fireworks in the pit of her stomach. His fingers then tucked a few loose strands of hair behind her ear. She almost leaned in to his touch.
So gentle!
Her body seemed to be out of the control of her brain. It was only reacting to his touch, to their proximity and to her desires. She took in another sharp breath as his gaze dropped to her lips as his hand pulled away from her face.
She didn't know if she had to say anything to him after that. Her heart softly thudded against her ribs. She had initiated the kiss. The realization made her cheeks heat up some more, like his touch hadn't been enough.
She looked sideways, wondering— what is he thinking? She was still too dazed to think of possible answers to that.
Nikhil couldn't look away. He didn't know if it was the light of the crackling fire or his own desires that made her look beautiful to him. When she had taken the seat next to him, all he thought was, how lucky he was— to have a partner. To have someone whose hand he could hold without any rhyme or reason. To have someone who made him smile. To have someone whose mere peck on the cheek made him feel like he mattered. To have someone who he could be with on cold winter nights.
The moment she had pressed her lips against his, he had forgotten how to breathe. He was momentarily stumped. And then an overwhelming urge had kicked in to make their lips touch again and he did. He never thought just kissing Sharanya would make him feel a plethora of emotions with such intensity.
A part of him didn't want to stop. The feeling was so damn good. He wanted to deepen the kiss, touch her more intimately but just in time the sane part of his mind had made him refrain from doing anything that could make her uncomfortable. The bond he had come to sharing with her was precious. He didn't want to lose that.
More than anything he was absolutely relishing the feeling that she desired him. The way she touched him, the way her lips made contact with his, everything about her screamed her desire. The feeling made him feel euphoric. Sharanya's absolute assertion of her rights on him via her actions left him craving for more, for more of her, for more of them.
When they parted he couldn't help but admire the soft look on her face. Her lips appeared fuller and glistened. He wanted to run his fingers along her neck, and let his lips explore the skin at the base of her neck. His entire body had started participating. He had never before felt a need as raw as the one he felt right now. He wanted to know her more intimately. He wanted to be her husband in the most intimate way. He wanted to show her how desperately he wanted her, her body.
But that's where he drew the line. He didn't want to rush things. He could catch hints of the first-timer's shyness and uncertainty on her face. He didn't want anything to happen just because their bodies wanted it. He wanted to cherish this small progress they had just made to be closer to each other.
