Nikhil sat on his bed after changing into a pair of shorts and t-shirt. At the dinner Saahil had looked at them with amusement filled eyes. Apparently, Sharanya couldn't miss biding farewell to the ladies. Poor Sharanya had hardly looked at Saahil in the eye. In return to Saahil's amused grin, Nikhil had scowled. That was enough for Saahil to stop being so annoying about it.

However at dinner, Nikhil barely got his wife's attention. First Shreya was discussing some customized earrings with her and then Maa was talking about visiting some temple.

The ringing of his phone got his attention. Surprised at the caller ID—which read— Home Landline.

"Hello?"

"Nikhil,"

He smiled, "Sharanya,"

"I was too tired to come upstairs to just ask you— will you eat chickpeas curry for lunch tomorrow? Accordingly, I will soak it. Since you've been eating outside food, I thought of checking with you."

"For the record, I have eaten healthy all three days, including fruits and salad. And yes, I don't mind chickpeas for lunch."

"Okay then,"

"Will you be able to climbing the stairs up or should I come down to carry you up?"

She chuckled, "you can carry me?"

"I can try." He remarked.

"No need, it will end up with you having a back ache and me giving you a back massage."

"I don't mind a massage,"

"Nikhil, I am keeping the phone. Bye!" She uttered flustered.

Before Nikhil could say anything the line went dead. He grinned.

A few minutes later, his phone rang again. Amused he received the call. "Yes,"

"Uh, I forgot to order Maa's BP medicine. She insists it's okay to skip tonight. But I don't think that's a good idea. The doctor made it clear she shouldn't skip them. I am sorry, I forgot. It's pretty late, can you..."

"I will be down," He said ending the call.

Sharanya sighed keeping the cordless phone down. She didn't like troubling him. He'd be tired too after all the work and travel. She had initially thought of asking Saahil. But she didn't want him to feel bad that she chose to trouble Saahil instead of him. She was consciously making effort to involve him where she could.

"Text me the exact name of the medicine," She heard his voice and looked towards the staircase.

"I will come along." She spoke as he approached her.

"You don't have to, you're tired as it is. I will go get it. Just text me the name."

"Okay, if you don't get it in the shop near the gate, then you can drive down to the one near the departmental store near eighth cross, eagle Street. So take your car keys."

He turned to her. "I have it. I will be back." Saying that he made his way to the door and out.

Sharanya took a breath of relief. Maybe she should start setting reminders on her phone. She slowly walked back to her mother-in-law's room.
