Y/n's POV:

"Do you believe in the theory of three loves?" I ask, leaning back against Elizabeth's chest as we lie relaxed in the tub after an amazing evening spent together in our bed.

"Nope, what's that?" She asks and presses her soft lips against my neck, gently planting a few light kisses there, making me tilt my head a little so she has more access.

"Like the person can fall in love only three times in their life. It actually perfectly fits me," I begin to explain as her right hand finds it's place on my bent knee, stroking it, and her left one comes down to my waist, pulling me even closer to her.

"First one is the love that just looks right. That's what we all imagine it to be, easy and perfect, like in fairytales, it appeals to what we should be doing for society's sake. In my case it's my first boyfriend, that I had in high school," I continue talking while she lifts her lips from my neck, transferring small kisses to my cheek and temple.

"The second love is the hard one, that teaches us lessons about who we actually are and what we need. It hurts, brings pain, lies or even abuse sometimes, making us suffer because of our own choices. It can be unhealthy, unbalanced and toxic, exactly what I had with Taylor, love that we wished was right." At these words, Elizabeth stops her actions, but after a few seconds, she takes my chin with three fingers and makes me turn my head towards her so that she can kiss my lips.

"Are you even listening to me?" I ask, reluctantly pulling away from her and meeting an amused sparkling gaze.

"Mhm." That's all she says before one more time covering my lips with hers, placing her hand on my jaw, but I again break the kiss, staring at her with the pout on my face.

"I'm listening, I promise, just can't get enough of you," she speaks under her breath, flicking her gaze between my features, but I narrow my eyes in disbelief, suspecting that she didn't really hear a word.

"What was the last thing I said?" I ask and she only rolls her eyes playfully, pecking my lips couple of times. "Answer me-e-e," I whine, but then do the same thing as she just did, not being able to resist her charm.

"You said about your second love, I'm really listening," she answers, surprising me with giving an actual attention to whatever I was talking about. "What about the third one, hmm?"

"It's the love that lasts. We never see it coming, it just suddenly hits us and at first looks extremely wrong, but then we understand that it's the only one that can be right, because it feels like that. We can't explain it, we just surrender to it without thinking, fully accepting the other person for who they are. And I truly think, that you're this very person for me." I finish my short explanation and watch her looking thoughtfully somewhere through me before gently resting her head on my bare shoulder.

"I really hope so, Y/n/n. To be honest, I think I fell for you the moment I saw you the first time. But then Taylor and...well..." she states hugging my body tightly, inhaling the sweet scent of my shampoo, visibly becoming a little bit nervous.

"You know, Ellie," I place my hands on the top of hers, trying to prevent her from being stressed because of it, "I think we both had to get through this experience, even if it wasn't good. I'm not the person that you saw then, so maybe it was better for us to discover each other exactly now to stop us from making irreversible mistakes then. You know what I mean?" I ask and turn my head so I could see her still thoughtful face expression.

"I hate it when you act more mature than me," she smiles defeatedly and leans in to press her lips to mine once again only to see me eagerly respond to her sweet action.

"See, I wasn't like that back then. So everything's happening as it should be," I reassure her one more time and soon we're back in a big comfortable bed, falling asleep in each other's arms after an eventful and surprisingly the best day of my life, which was originally expected to be the worst.
