Y/n's POV:

"Who's that?" Her voice behind me asks as I sit on the edge of the bed staring at my phone screen, causing me to slightly smirk to myself at the thought of showing her a perfect example of how I feel about her friendship with Robbie from the side.

So I wonder how much you will like my answer, Elizabeth.

"Just a friend, darling," I briefly look at her and give her a small smile, turning my attention back to the phone screen after a second, deciding to tell Charles that we would love to join his party if other plans don't interfere.

"Tell her hi for me," Elizabeth replies in a low voice, moving up from behind me and pressing her lips to my neck, starting to shower it with hot kisses while wrapping her arm around my stomach, leaning against my back with her bare breasts.

"Yup, I'll tell him hi," I emphasize the word "him" on purpose, mentally smirking to myself as I feel her lips suddenly leave my skin while I can still sense her warm breath on my neck, knowing that now her eyes must shift to my phone, which I immediately lock.

"Since when do you have male friends?" She wonders in a suspiciously calm tone as she moves to sit on the bed next to me with her feet on the floor and her head turned towards me, carefully watching my cheeks turn reddish and my gaze fixed on the scattered clothes on the floor because it's too risky for me to look directly at her so as not to give out my slight worry.

"Since I got to know Charles," my tone is stubborn to be steady, not showing my true inner turmoil over my intended little stunt and I can hear Elizabeth swallowing hard before locking her hands on her knees.

"Don't tell me it's the guy I'm thinking about," her voice becomes monotonous, indicating her internal annoyance that she is trying to hide.

"Why?" My tone is laced with fake incomprehension. "It's kinda funny that I'm always surrounded by women and you're always surrounded by men, so I just decided to...diversify my friends circle a bit." I finally turn my head to her, watching her heavy gaze peering into the emptiness before finding my eyes.

"I don't trust him, Y/n," her serious eyes express only some emotional unavailability, as if her head is completely filled with certain thoughts that I don't know about, and her tone turns surprisingly cold even though I expected her to immediately get mad, so I'll get the chance to explain everything to her.

"You should trust me, not him." The thought that it's the same as what I should say to myself visits my head at the certain moment, but then the conviction that I have my reasons not to trust her completely replaces it.

"It doesn't exclude the fact that he can use you or land his eyes on you, Y/n." How can she say such things, but be so blind to the exact same risk that she has with Robbie? For a couple of seconds I consider going after her with this, but then decide to forget about it knowing that she will find the way to justify everything as she wants, so my only option is showing everything to her by being an example.

"He's a good guy, El, and I'm sure that he doesn't want anything to do with me except being friends," I simply paraphrase words that she said to me earlier, watching her jaw tighten for a couple of seconds before she lets out a slightly annoyed exhalation and gets up from the bed to pick up her clothes.

"Oh, and he invited us to the party this Saturday. Gonna bring Liv and Mads too," I add, watching as she silently piles her things on the edge of the bed and heads to the next room to get her home clothes, leaving me without an answer.

"El?" I address her once again and her blank gaze falls on me as she enters our bedroom, letting me to conclude that her thoughts are in a completely different place right now.
