Y/n's POV:

"Baby?" Elizabeth's voice, who just entered the room, takes my attention away from the big screen TV I've been glued to for the past few hours. "I brought you your favorite sushi," she smiles, showing me a paper bag in her hand and sitting down next to me on the bed.

"Hi-i, I missed you so much today, thank you," I smile back at her, pausing the show and start to lean in to press a kiss to her lips, but then suddenly remember that I'm currently wearing a face mask, so can't do it right now. I had a day off today, while Elizabeth had several meetings and some paper work, but nevertheless she managed to send me messages almost every hour, checking how I'm doing.

Our recent conversation, which almost escalated into a major conflict, made both of us reconsider our attitude towards each other and our own priorities a bit, pushing us to new actions that our relationship demanded for being healthy.

Elizabeth is doing her best to give me as much reassurance as possible whenever I needed it, every day reminding me about her true feelings for me, and I am, in turn, gradually building and solidifying my trust in her, trying to reduce my overthinking, not letting intrusive thoughts push me into rash actions.

"I missed you too, sunshine," she says quietly, running her hand through my loose hair. "What are you watching?" Her eyes curiously shift to the TV with paused moment, where some blood and creepy monster that always scared the shit out of me, are frozen on the screen.

"Stranger things," I reply without much thought as my mind is now focused on just how stunning she looks even after a long busy day, making me feel needy for her warmth almost immediately. "How was your day?" I wonder, getting out of bed to go get the mask off my face and finally give my girlfriend a proper kiss after that.

"A bit exhausting, so I could use some cuddles," she gives me a small tiring smile, grabbing my hand and preventing me from going anywhere as I start feeling a strong desire to tightly secure her in my arms.

"You'll get some as soon as I'm done with my mask, honey," I run my fingers through her silky blonde hair, that somehow managed to keep its form and neat styling during the whole day, watching as she leans her forehead on my stomach, pulling me closer to her with both of her hands.

"I'm so tired of working, although I like my job lately, but I've been doing it for more than half a year without any vacation at all," El starts speaking in her usual soft voice, closing her eyes. "But autumn is coming soon, which means I'll finally get a two-week vacation," her tone brightens noticeably and she lifts her head, staring at me, who is looking down at her, still stroking her hair.

"I'll talk to my parents and ma-aybe will get a vacation too, since I didn't use a previous one." I'm already mentally scrolling through all the possible ideas for dates and quality time with her, feeling my heart flutter at the mere thought that we can spend two whole weeks just together, maybe even travel somewhere.

"Mhm, great. You know what else autumn means?" Her affectionate smile is now replaces with a teasing one, while she bites her lower lip a bit, slightly scratching her nails along my waist.

"I have no idea," I reply quietly, not being able to stop staring in these two loving green orbs, radiating a warmth that makes me feel a swarm of butterflies in my stomach.

"That my favorite girl is having a birthday really soon," she continues speaking in the same tone, placing a small kiss on my stomach without breaking an eye contact, but my feeling of this pure moment is immediately gone at only one mention of this day.

"Do you have any plans or wishes already?" Elizabeth gently asks, trapping me between her legs while my thoughts are starting to sink into the day, that once left me with an irrevocable hatred for it and my life.
