Hydros walked down the corridor of the capital building, tool case in hand with Alyssa and Rose in tow. He gazed at the people passing by with a strange look that Rose couldn't place. To her, he looked like he was a little jealous.
"Is everything alright Hydros?" She asked.
"Y-yeah, just thinking is all." He replied.
"So...where are we heading anyways?" Alyssa asked.
"We're heading to my informant here in the capital. He should be able to get us a few answers at least."
"Then why are we here with you?" Rose asked.
"This is somewhat of a test for everyone." Hydros explained. "It's to test those three on their information gathering skills and you two to try blending in with the crowd."
"Uh...sure. The six foot guy is walking alongside two seven to eight foot tall, gorgeous, women. Yeah, we blend in so well." Alyssa joked.
"You could always chock it up to genetics." He said with a shrug. "It's not entirely a lie."
"Sure, sure, whatever. Where's your informant?" She asked.
"Right up on the left, his shop is in there."
"His shop?" Rose asked.
"Yeah, right. I forgot to mention. Many high officials here in Zenith have jobs outside of their civil duties. He owns a shop that he manages when he's off duty so to speak." Hydros explained.
They entered a rustic themed cafe. The atmosphere was calming and had an overwhelming sense of zen and peace that washed over the three quickly. Tables and chairs were arranged at an angle across the cafe.
Behind the main counter was a young man, early thirties or late twenties. His hair was jet black and his eyes were a warm golden yellow. A pair of glasses hung loosely on his nose as he inspected a glass in hands.
"Good day Rippana Holt." Hydros said with a flamboyant bow.
The man sighed. "How many times have I told you to stop that Hydros." He set the glass down and turned to them. "And I see you've brought more...ugh...escorts, with you." His eyes were filled with disgust.
"Escorts?" Rose asked.
"Who? Us?" Alyssa pointed to the two of them.
"Haha! They're not escorts Jack, they're my...new recruits, to an extent." Hydros said.
"Hmmm, sure. Anyways, why are you here?" Holt asked.
"I'm here on an assignment. You have any info on Slavore?" He leaned against the counter as he asked.
"Are you talking about that terrorist arms dealer?"
"Yes, we're going after him pretty soon. We have a basic understanding of his movements around the city but I wanted to ask you if you had any information that's a little more detailed."
"He's been causing a ruckus around the whole city, it's hard to track him down with just the police force. The military is too busy at the moment to help us with hunting down some ruffian." Holt said.
"Where's the army at? I thought they were always on standby for you three." Hydros questioned.
"It was a joint decision. And why did you really come to me Hydros? Gathering intelligence is one of your fortes." Holt asked.
"Is it so bad to see an old friend?"
"But this isn't just a friendly visit, is it?"
Hydros sighed. "No, no it isn't. Look, I really need your help with this. It's paramount we track him down and end him soon. He's going to be leaving soon and we want to know where he'll be when he does."
