Eune fired up the engines to their airship and took off for Orion. Alyssa sat in the back, running a thumb over her helmet. He set the ship on autopilot and joined her. He took his helmet off and kneeled in front of her.

"Hey, Alyssa, I know you're upset..."

"Upset? I'm beyond upset Eune." She halfheartedly replied.

"We were lied to today. How many times were we lied to before? I have too many questions bashin' around my head right now."

"I know, and we're going to find out why. I need you on your A-game for this. Doing this could turn us against our friends and, I don't want to fight them over this." He explained.

She set her helmet down and looked up at him. Her eyes were dull and lifeless. She managed a half smile and nodded.

"Yeah, I think I can."

"Good. I know you're sad but, I'm pissed. This shouldn't have happened. I want to know why." He growled.

"Alright, let's do this." She nodded.

"Where do we even start?" She asked after a moment of silence.

"I'm not sure, honestly." Eune replied. He stood up and rubbed the back of his neck. "We're good at what we do but, we've never done something like this."

"Most of our missions are a 'go here and wipe out whatever we tell you' sort of thing." Alyssa said. "Maybe, we go to the village?"

"No, I doubt they'd be comfortable cooperating with us after what we pulled." Eune rubbed his chin. "Let's explore around the main island. Maybe one of the other islands have what we need."

"You mean, go to the other islands that we were specifically told not to go to?" Alyssa asked.

"Yeah, I mean, who knows what the other islands house. The main island has our main facility and who knows what else Orion has built around it. I doubt Doctor Seraph would be happy with just the one." Eune said.

"Won't they question why we're there? What do we say?" Alyssa asked.

"Who says we're gonna walk through the front door? If we're banned from going to the other islands, then I'd bet they'd be on alert for any of us showing up. We'll go in stealthily and take a look around." Eune explained.

"Ya know, Eune, sometimes I wonder why you never spoke up more during our missions." She said she stood. "You're pretty talkative when you get the ball rollin'."

"Ah, t-thanks. I guess I ramble on when I'm worked up, hehe."

She leaned in and gave him a peck on the cheek. She returned to her seat and leaned back, closing her eyes.

"Let's get some rest. Goddess knows we're gonna need it." She said.

Author's Note:

Sorry for getting these chapters out so late. The holidays were a bit busier than I thought they'd be and I honestly forgot to get some chapters out before then. This one's a bit shorter than usual but I plan on making the next five fairly long. Time to explore the rest what hides in Orion's shadow and The Calypso Archipelago. See you all in the next chapters on Tuesday! Thank you so much for reading this far, I really appreciate it.
