An Update

Hey, not sure how many people are gonna read this but, this is something I gotta get out there. This update is more about myself rather than the rewrite. Well, it involves the rewrite but, ya know what I mean.

A lot's been going on in the past year and a half. My eldest cat got diagnosed with a kidney disease, we're managing it with medication and fluid treatments right now, my mother retired, we're moving and downsizing, and I've been looking for a new job. And all of that's been yanking my attention away from really sitting down and writing anything related to this rewrite.

Speaking of, I've really lost sight of what I wanted to do with this. I originally wrote my first three stories back during high school and early college. Honestly, when I reread my first story I thought it was too childish sounding in my head and it prompted this rewrite in the first place. Well, I feel kinda silly for thinking that after someone told me that most authors go through something similar in their writing and I wanted to change how I wrote my stories. More mature or whatever. But, recently, I realized that this rewrite felt more like a chore rather a genuine story I wanted to tell. I felt the quality of it dropped the more I wrote and I lost that spark that I can clearly see I had in my original work. So, I won't be continuing the rewrite. I'll leave it here if anyone cares for it but, yeah, I'm done with it.

However, some might have noticed I republished my first story and changed its title. I plan of compiling all of my original stories into one massive collection AND I plan on finishing the third one, Ragnarok. I have the drafts I wrote way back when so I can type them out and post them at anytime. Unfortunately, Wattpad doesn't have an easy way to merge stories so I'm stuck doing so manually, and let me tell ya, both the app and the website have been total nightmares for it.

Another reason I'm not continuing the rewrite is, I've been jotting down ideas for a totally new story that I've been vibing with for a few months now. I've even started writing some drafts for it recently. While I can't really say when it'll be out as I'll be busy with my 'restoration' of my original works, I'll be sure to let you all know when it'll be released.

I'm sure some who have read my stories might not believe me when I say I am working on getting the old and new stuff out in a timely manner, as life is actively kicking me in the balls, I am genuinely wanting to get back to writing stories and sharing them with anyone who wants to read them. I am sorry for being gone for so long without giving any real updates but, with everything going on, this is something I think I really need right now.

I will change a few things in my original stories as I really like the ideas I have in my rewrite so I might as well use 'em eh?

Thank you all for reading my stuff, seriously. I remember when my first story hit 1000 reads and I was so damn shocked that I just sat there in awe. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for continuing to follow my stuff. The second story should be merged into the....collection? Trilogy? (Still working out a proper title for them all) here soon.
