"What's the status of the ore collection?" Seraph asked Solaris. His fingers tapped away at a holographic computer, its screen floating just next to his head. The small room overlooking the hangar was filled with similar computers and screens with a large window letting in the natural light from the open doors of the hangar. A crew of fifteen people tapped away at their screens and speaking through their own communications device. Each person seemingly overseeing a mission.
"It is going smoothly sir. No complications so far." Solaris replied. "We are nearing ninety eight percent of the necessary material for your project."
"Excellent, that is indeed good to hear." Seraph replied.
"Our missions have also been a success. Less than one percent have ended in failure." Solaris added.
"What about Hydros? The mercenaries?" Seraph questioned.
"I have not heard much of anything since his outburst. My intel suggests that he is planning something. To what degree, I do not know." Solaris reported. "We do know that he will be making his move during the last few years of the project. For what reason? I do not know."
"Hmm, I see. Why would he wait? That does not seem like him." Seraph mumbled. "That is troubling, but insignificant at the moment. We have an issue at Island Two." Seraph said.
"What is the issue? Should I deploy my forces?" Solaris asked.
"No, deploy Hydros' squad. I want to see what they do." Seraph answered. "Make sure you have someone you can trust on the mission. I want to know if they try to use the mission as an opportunity to do something. If so, expunge them from my work. Permanently."
"Yes sir. I will get on it." Solaris saluted and opened the door.
"I'll send you the mission details in a minute." Seraph waved over his shoulder.
Hydros and his men were sitting in the mess hall when Solaris burst into the room. "Hydros! Gather your men! There is an issue at Island Two and I'm sending you in to deal with it." Solaris barked.
"Yes sir!"
"Get your gear and get to the hangar, we'll debrief you on the way." Solaris said as they left the room.
They arrived in the hangar, their silver armor shining in the afternoon light. Their armor cover their vital areas along with their shoulders, forearms, thighs and legs. The helmet they wore had a 'v' shaped visor and blue lights accented the armor.
An Atlas class airship was waiting for them. It was one of the largest craft that Orion had created. It's body was bulky in design and it had four thrusters attached to the wings with another pair on the tail end of it. The cockpit had a sharp, blade like look to it and it supported a plasma turret under its nose.
A ramp had extended out the back, letting Hydros and his men rush aboard. The interior was quite spacious, with enough room to hold not only Hydros and his men, but also a couple of off-road vehicles that were designed to most fast and bash through barriers thanks to the extra armor they sported in the front.
The ramp closed and a hologram of Solaris came to life. Next to him was an aerial view of the closest island to Orion's main headquarters. "Now then, we have an issue that I will have you handle Sergeant. A nest of Arachnids has been located fifty kilometers from our outpost along with the village." Solaris explained.
"Reach its location and eradicate it. It must not disrupt our work nor the village. To ensure your success, I have sent Arcturus along with you to assist you. He is already there so it makes things easier." He continued.
