Dani

I woke up to the sound of Talia's voice, "Dani...Dani we're here."

My eyes opened and I saw her unbuckling my car seat.

"We're at the high school." She stated.

She put me down and grabbed my hand so we could walk into the school.

The school was huge on the inside. I'd never been inside a school before.

It was just like Mama T explained it.

She held my hand firmly as she walked me and it was a few people staring me. It made me uneasy.

I clenched onto Talia's leg and she rubbed my back.

"It's ok, the classroom is right around the corner." She pointed.

I nervously followed her the rest of the way.

We walked in and I gripped my breakfast bag tightly. I saw a blonde lady at a desk.

"Good Morning Ms. Thompson. This is my daughter Dani." Talia said.

The lady then stood up. She came over and bent down, "Hi there."

I clenched onto Talia's leg harder and she said, "Dani she's nice, I promise."

I clenched harder.

"I brought you some gummy bears." She pointed to her bag.

I turned but then I said, "I'm not supposed to take candy from strangers."

She smiled, "You're right. How about we stop being strangers."

She went to her bag and pulled out the gummy bears before coming back over.

I fully turned to her and she continued, "I'm Ms. Thompson and I know you're Dani. But since I only know your first name so you can know my first name. It's Olivia."

I let go of Talia's leg and said, "Why did you choose the last name Thompson. That's boring."

She chuckled softly, "I don't know, I was born with that last name. I feel like everyone has a boring last name."

I shook my head, "Love isn't boring."

She looked shocked, "I had a teacher whose last name was Love."

That sounded like Mama D.

"Was she married to a woman?" I asked

She was taken aback as she nodded, "Yes, how did you know that?"

I then said, "That's my Mama D and Mama T."

She looked confused and she looked at Talia who clarified, "My mother used to be a teacher here."

She stood up with a look of disbelief, "W-wait."

She cupped Talia's face gently, "You're Talia Love. Mrs. Love's daughter?"

Talia nodded softly, "Y-yes. Why?"

Olivia hugged her and Talia looked really happy.

Olivia pulled back and she said, "Oh my goodness. Talia your mom was my teacher. I should've known, you have her eyes. I used to hold you when you were a child."

Olivia put her hand on her forehead, "Wow, you've grown so beautifully."

She bent down to me, "You know I used to hold your mommy when she was your age."

I was shocked, "Really, did she look like me?"

She nodded, "Yes. And she would always kiss me on the cheek."
