Danielle

I turned off the light to the cafe and went up the stairs.

It had been a tiring day but I still enjoyed it. I actually loved working at the Cafe with Tyler.

I loved teaching and I know she loved being the guidance counselor but when Nelly asked us to take over the shop we couldn't decline. She was getting older and we needed to raise our kids.

Working at the shop also wasn't incredibly hard. It was always steady and the counter could be worked by two people all day.

After Daniel left and Talia got a new job we were left without helpers. Tyler and I hired help so we didn't have to work there as long or often.

The new people start tomorrow so Tyler and I should have time to relax. We are getting older too and Tyler has been begging to build a study.

I went upstairs and into our room and I saw Tyler staring at a book but she didn't have her glasses on. I knew she wasn't reading it.

I closed our door, "What did you want to talk about."

I began to take my work clothes off and I heard, "Nelly doesn't like Olivia. That's a bad sign and you know it."

I turned to her, "I spoke to Nelly. She said Olivia associated herself with someone dangerous and it made her weary of her. It's not because Olivia is bad for Talia."

I went into the bathroom and Tyler held the book to her chest.

"Well do you think she's right for Talia?" She asked.

I nodded, "Did you hear them this afternoon?"

She gave me a serious look and I said, "I think she and Talia are soulmates."

She put on her glasses, "Ok..."

I got in the shower and washed the day's labor off of me.

"Danielle sweetheart you know you can close the door when you shower." She said as she read.

"Then how would I spend all 24 hours of my day with you?" I asked.

She chuckled and I continued to wash.

Once I finished I got out and got dressed.

"Tyler." I said as a thought filled my mind.

"When was the last time you read Dani a bedtime story?" I asked.

"Has been at least two weeks. Talia does that now." She said.

I smiled softly and she said, "Why the smile?"

"Because she's past the point of flaking out." I stated.

I turned to her and said, "Every time she and Dani are going strong you suggest she read her a bedtime story. And right afterwards she detaches."

Tyler smirked softly, "You finally noticed."

I did a short sigh and turned away.

"I know you and Nelly have this natural telepathic intuition thing but it really hurts my feelings when you leave me in the dark...I'm not an idiot." I said softly.

She closed her book and stood up. I put on my robe and I could see her come up behind me in the mirror.

"I know you aren't stupid Danielle but I can't always tell you what I'm thinking because there's always a chance I'm wrong." She explained.

"So what if you're wrong. I feel like I barely talk to you anymore. We're together all day but we don't talk." I argued.

She gently turned me around. She sat down and pulled me onto her lap. I sat on her lap and she cupped me face.

"Danielle I'm sorry." She looked really sincere.

"The last thing I want you to think is that I'm keeping you in the dark. And you're right. We haven't been talking as much. How do we fix it?" She asked gently.

"For starters we can do this before bed." I mumbled.

She chuckled and nodded, "And what else."

I shrugged, "We're getting help at the cafe but once you get your study you really won't talk to me."

She gripped my waist tighter, "How about a vacation. Just the two of us."

I wrapped my arms around her neck, "I'm listening." She chuckled.

"Somewhere cozy...cold. Maybe a cabin in the mountains. I'll only bring fifteen books and the rest is just us." She suggested

I wanted to see how serious she was. "Ten books." I said as I maintained eye contact

She was just silently staring, watching my face to see if I was joking or would budge.

And then she glanced down and did a soft nod "Ten books."

I hugged and kissed her. I pulled back and she was smiling softly.

"I know you know. So between Talia and Olivia who's-" I got through half the sentence before she cut in, "Talia is the top. She's like you if you were actually a top."

I disagreed but before I could say it she said, "She's more like you naturally. She only acts like me in professional settings. She'll teach like you."

"Dani acts like you." Tyler did a soft nod.

"She really does. And I don't think she'll ever grow out of it." Tyler said.

"Well..." I started.

She chuckled and said, "Your libido is-"

I moved off her lap, "If you don't want to-"

She pinned me down and we looked at each other for a few seconds.

"I didn't mean to insult you. I like it, I really do. I reap all the benefits." She said quickly and nervously.

"I know I went through menopause but that means nothing when you're always around." I said softly.

She chuckled and said, "And how do you think I get, always having to look at your beautiful face."

I blushed softly before saying, "How many girls have you used that on?"

We both giggled and she said, "Only one. My one and only."

She kissed me and then my cheek, "I take it you want to sound like Olivia earlier today?"

I giggled and said, "I want to be louder."

She chuckled and said "We can't wake Dani."

I did a soft pout before saying, "Am I going to be the top then?"

She rolled her eyes, "You haven't been the top since last month but if you-"

I held her tightly and said, "Maybe next month."

She giggled and started to kiss my neck, "I love you Danielle."

I pulled her up to my face, "I love you too Tyler."

And we kissed.

Where would I be without her.
