I peeked in the bedroom door and Talia wasn't there.

She was finishing up Dani's bedtime story.

I walked in the room and threw my towel off.

I had to pick some sexy underwear quick before she got back. And just as I was opening the drawer the door opened.

I stared down at my nakedness as I heard the door close.

Why would I throw my towel off immediately.

"You uh...mind just facing me for a second Liv." I heard.

I did a short sigh before slowly turning around to see Talia with a smug look.

She smirked, "Oh...landing strip. My favorite."

I covered myself and she covered her eyes.

"Ok. Find your underwear while I navigate to the bed." She said

I quickly found some lace ones and threw them on.

I went to the bed and got under the covers.

"Ok..." I said softly.

She moved her hand from her eyes and got under the covers with me.

"Liv..." she started while pulling me closer.

"Tell me about your ex." She said softly.

I moved out of her grasp in an obvious confusion.

"What?" I questioned.

"You know, the guy I had to beat up. Tell me about him." She stated.

I stared at her for a few seconds and she maintained eye contact, showing me she was serious.

I did a short sigh.

"He beat me Talia. Why do you want to know about him-" I began to say.

She sat up and said, "No."

I was quiet and she put her glasses on her forehead.

"Do you remember when you first met my grandmother and she said you associated with dangerous people?" She asked.

I knew where this was going and I was scared to answer her.

"Was your ex boyfriend that dangerous person?" She asked.

I wanted to deflect. I didn't want her to hate me.

"When did you start listening to your grandmother again?" I asked.

She just stared at me silently and her eyes were cold.

I just glanced at my lap and nodded softly.

"Why Liv?" She asked while grabbing my hand.

"All I know is from what he told me and that was that he's had many run ins with the police. But he said most of them were just speeding tickets." I stated.

I glanced down. "And I know he had a breaking and entering charge years ago but when I first met him I couldn't tell. Back then he was nice."

Talia did a short sigh. "Should I be worried for our safety?"

I shook my head, "I don't think so."

She did a long sigh, "I wish you were more confident in that answer."

My eyes teared, "I'm so sorry."

She rolled onto me and kissed me.

"It alright Liv." She whispered.
