I stood at the counter with Tyler. Danielle was comforting Talia at a table.

"She hates me." I said softly.

My eyes teared, "I didn't mean for this to happen. I'm so sorry I brought your family into my mess."

She shushed me and said, "His actions aren't your fault but Olivia listen."

She held my hands and said, "For this relationship to be as strong as it was you need to step back and give her some space."

I did a soft sigh and she said, "It'll be hard and it'll feel hopeless. But Talia is only going to focus on Dani in this moment. And you have to let her come back to you when she is ready."

I nodded "I will. I'll do anything."

The familiar sound of the door chime rang and we all turned.

Nelly walked in and Dani ran in behind her, "Mommy!"

Talia knocked the whole table over as she got up and went to grab Dani.

She fell onto her knees and cried, "Dani. My baby."

They cried together. Mama D and Nelly came over to us.

"I was weary of you for a reason." Nelly said motioning to me.

I then said, "I didn't know he was crazy, just controlling."

She glared, "Well you can't control shit when you're dead, now can you?"

Tyler cut in, "Nelly, Danielle had a crazy ex too."

She nodded, "But Danielle's ex kidnapped Danielle. I think you see where I'm going with this."

I then said, "If I had the option on whether he could've kidnapped me or Dani I would've sacrificed my life immediately for that girl."

They we're quiet and I said, "I love her like my own. And I can't cry because I have to be strong for Talia but I feel everything she is feeling. And I'm so sorry that I didn't prevent this from happening. If I thought he was even capable of doing this to your family I would've never even glanced Talia's way. If you don't think I blame myself for this then you're wrong."

They quietly looked amongst each other.

I then looked to Talia and Dani who were still hugging.

"Talia, Dani." Mama T said.

They looked over and Mama T said, "You two go shower and get some sleep. We'll call Randy."

Nelly came behind the counter, "I'll make Dani some juice. She won't remember anything."

Danielle then said, "Are you going to drug my granddaughter?"

She then said, "The short answer is yes. But I've done this enough to know the dosage to give her. It's sleeping medicine. After she drinks it she'll go to sleep. And if she processes trauma like Talia does she won't remember it when she wakes up."

Tyler and Danielle didn't intervene so I didn't either. She must actually be skilled if they let her do what she she's doing.

"Did you actually kill him?" I asked a bit nervously.

She glanced up at me.

I then said, "I'm not sympathetic but Danielle said you only kill sex offenders."

She huffed softly, "He was a sex offender."

I didn't know that.

"So...you killed him." I clarified.

She shook her head, "No. I killed all his other sex offender band mates and left him alive to go hide out in Bora Bora. Yes I killed him Olivia."

I was just quiet after that.

She finished the juices and handed them off. "Tyler give these juices to Talia and Dani. Tell them I said they must drink the whole cup before going to sleep. It'll help with the night terrors."

Tyler took the drinks upstairs.

Danielle folded her hands, "Nelly thank you. Once again you've saved this family."

"And who'll save it once I die?" She asked

She did a soft sigh, "Tyler tried Nelly but she can't even hold a gun without crying. No one can fulfill your shoes."

Nelly was quiet and I could see that she already had an idea.

I then said, "Dani..."

They both looked at me and I said, "That's why she's your favorite. You want Dani to be your predecessor... but Dani isn't a killer."

She then said, "We'll see...all in due time"

I guess we will.
