Im a realist

The next morning Hermione realized there was something very wrong, breakfast seemed stilted, her uncle couldn't look her in the eye, Harry's face was fixed in a constant blush, Ron was all but purple at the table. Mollys expression was probably the most telling, the eager disproval on the woman's face nearly caused the young witch to roll her eyes in exasperation .
Fleur unfortunately had already left to work with a kiss goodbye as Bill followed her lead.

Hermione bit into her toast, examining each face before realizing the cause of it , swallowing her toast and washing it down with pumpkin juice "I knew I forgot something" she mumbled more to herself. Though one look at Fred and George and she realized the boys had no problem instead offered her a discreet thumbs up.

"So .." she started ignoring the slightly embarrassed blush at being heard, she was by no measure embarrassed that Fleur and her celebrated their love physically. No, never but she was rather embarrassed that they forgot to cast a silencing charm. An amateur mistake. "We've gotten our class lists then.. and school starts in a week it's best to head on to diagon alley to get them."

Harry was luckily the first to recover and cleared his throat "Mm yeah I agree, best to get there before we're forced to grab the left overs"

"Yeah we have to check out places to rent too" added George

"Yep needs to be central too" agreed Fred with a subtle wink to her.

She nodded gratefully "Then we'll go today? I have to stop at Gringotts too" she said thoughtfully "I have a few things to discuss with my account manager"

"Considering the latest developments it might be best to take Tonks too" said Sirius "I'd join but I don't think it'll be a welcome sight to have an Azkaban escapee free"

Hermione pursed her lips "If only we could find Wormtail, with his testimony under Veritaserum you'd be acquitted" muttered Hermione stabbing her egg violently

"With the way the ministry's heading I don't think his testimony would be enough now" said Sirius with a grievous smile.

Hermione scoffed shaking her head  "Corruption, lies and falsehoods are the one thing Riddle wants.
The ministry is playing right into his hands. It's ridiculous, their fear of him will be our undoing"

"He was powerful enough to bring the wizarding world to their knees in the 1970's Mia." Said Harry with sigh but didn't appreciate the Ministry's efforts either.

Hermione chewed her lip "I'm well aware but the fact remains that with the Ministry keeping his return quiet will only sow destruction, mark my words Harry I wouldn't be surprised if the they try to interfere in Hogwarts."

Harry raised a brow "You can't be serious Hermione, even if they are the Ministry they can't interfere , Dumbledore would never allow it."

Hermione's eyes darkened slightly "Harry.. I love you but you need to start looking at the bigger picture not just a small piece.

Their goal was to silence you by having you expelled from Hogwarts for the use of underage magic, I'm convinced it was someone in the ministry that sent those dementors to old whingy. You yourself said Fudge was saying all sort of awful things before the panel, trying to discredit Dumbledore, you and myself. Fortunately they were unsuccessful but it raises questions, if they could go to such means to hold power over information , the next step would either get someone into Hogwarts to try and prove your incompetence and Dumbledore's supposed plans for world domination— they'll most likely monitor me as well, classes, letters and so on.."

The table descended into silence before Ron scoffed "you're just paranoid , the Ministry has no power in Hogwarts."

Hermione sighed in irritation  "They may not, but if Dumbledore proves he has nothing to hide , he'll welcome them into the school with opened arms. His refusal will only feed the rumors fudge started."
