Chapter Two : The Council

The door to the council chambers opened as Slade and Jade walked in eager for answers as to why the council wanted to see them. Seated at the Council table were The members Mason ,Shaw , Kristina , Bumi , and the grand council member Kel as he spoke. Slade Bolin and Jade Lestrade its been ages since we've last met Kel said in a calm voice as Slade replied to him, it has Grandmaster he said to which they both grinned at each other as Jade spoke up. If its the same to you all why have we been called she said breaking the brief silence as Master Bumi had replied to her, do you both realize that you are the most skilled Assassins in the Order , he said as he straightened himself in his council seat. Taking their concerned faces into account council member Kristina continued, of course you do as such do you remember the incident with the Apple of Eden do you not? surely you've not forgotten. Both Slade and Jade's eye widened as she approached them before speaking ,yeah we remember Jade said to which Slade grew silent as the council continued. Both of you were able to withstand the power of its corruption without being destroyed you are aware of this yes?, of course you are your reports say so I believe Master Mason had uttered. To which the two gazed looks as one another until the council member Shaw had continued the speech of the former, not only did you withstand the Apple's effects but a part of it merged with you as well he said surprising them both. How is that possible for it to merge with a human? Slade asked shocked as Mason replied to his statement, we do not know but it has never happened before at least to our knowledge Mason said concerned. After all we should be asking you two who have by all rights been alive longer then we, as you both were still in Victorian Era garb when we awakened you from your slumber he had continued as Bumi spoke again. But that is not why we called you here, there is another matter at hand he said as he looked over to Shaw who adjusted his glasses before speaking. The Templars have returned he had said removing his glasses  to which Slade and Jade had became silent with shock. But how can that be Arthur I mean Slade defeated them all at the observatory Jade said surprised as Bumi replied to her, the ones the Slade defeated were not the true Templars these ones have been around for centuries and believed to have been wiped out he said before looking to the  the other members. They are also being lead by a Master Templar to whom we do not know you both know that if we even let one Templar survive, they could taint the peace that we have had for the past years and undo everything we've achieved Kristina had said as Slade had spoken once more. And you want us to eliminate them all and discover who their Master is? he asked to which the council had all nodded in agreement as she replied, exactly after all who better to hunt a Master Templar than a Master Assassin let alone two Kristina said in a calm voice as they both glanced at each other. Masters Slade and Jade we apologize sincerely for this sudden mission however The Order still has need for you, will you take on this task and help to protect the peace that we have had here? member Mason said to which Slade replied eagerly. To preserve the peace for the world how can we possibly refuse, We accept the mission and will leave without delay council members. We will see to it that their plans end along with their lives Jade had also said getting up as Bumi spoke again, you too are bound by spirit may the fates be kind with you to grant  a safe journey. Maybe on this path you two will find something about yourselves that you didn't even know, but we have high expectations in your success he said once more as Grandmaster Kel had spoken again. Where you go from here is on your own initiative you have full control, but we encourage that you keep us updated with any developments in your travels he said as the two bowed in respect before Slade had replied to him. Thank you council members we will end this properly this time said as he and Jade walked toward the door, to which as the council members had concluded the meeting the two had left the council chambers marking the end of their long retirement.
