It had been over three weeks since Slade and Jade had arrived in Paris and the two decided that they would take a day of much needed rest. That morning he had awoken to the smell of food so he knew that Jade was cooking something as he had gotten out of bed. Good morning well what's all this? Slade said as he walked into the small kitchen to find Jade by the stove still in her night shirt. Upon hearing him she looked over her shoulder before smiling at him and returning to cooking as she replied. Decided to get up early and make us breakfast now It's been a tad since I've cooked, so don't you judge me too harshly will you? She said this to which he then sat down at the table before smelling the food as he replied. Don't be ridiculous It smells great he replied back to which Jade laughed. She then set her and his plate down before beginning to eat as she spoke again. So what's the plan today? Jade asked him as she took several bites of her food to which he looked at her grinning. I figured we could go on a date as I believe its called he replied happily as Jade had stopped eating and glanced at him. A date? like you and me together kind of date? she asked with a puzzled look. Yeah if you want to we've spent weeks here already with no sign of the Templars, so what's the harm having one day to spend like normal folk Slade said as he took a sip of his coffee. Well I'd love to go on a date Jade said kissing him on the cheek to which he returned to his meal. Jade had then went to the bathroom to which there was a knock at the door to which Slade heard. Wiping his face he opened the door to find a letter taped to it as he heard Jade's voice from the bathroom. Who was that at the door? she called to him to which he closed the door. It was nobody but looks like we received a letter in the post he replied back to her placing the letter on the table before they had left to enjoy their day. The two had gone to many places during their day of relaxation they had went to the museum of art , then they went to see a show at the theater , and then dined at a five star restaurant. Later that night as they walked down a street filled with paper lanterns, the two had felt even closer to one another both physically and mentally. I really had fun tonight with you Arthur it was the best time of my life Jade said as they walked to which he smiled at her. Yeah me too its been awhile since I've truly had a fun time he replied back as they gazed around at all the lanterns around them. The two had remained silent before Jade began humming a song that Slade didn't recognize as he looked at her. What are you humming a song? he asked Jade who preceded to stop before speaking. Hmm? oh yes Its a song my mother used to sing to me she replied back to which he then stopped walking as she continued. When I was little she used to care for me like a true mother could, but as I got older we talked less and less until barley at all Jade said to which he attentively listened to her tale. She was mostly leaving me with my father and when he passed I went to live with my grandparents, before I joined the Order and  after that she refused to have anything to do with me she didn't approve of my decision she never did, and well after I entered the slumber I never saw her again Jade said finishing her story. Slade was saddened a little by Jade's story for deep down, he wished that Jade had lived a much better life than what she did as he spoke to her softly. I am so sorry that happened to you he said holding her hand to which she looked at him before speaking again. What about you? what of your family?, Jade asked him to which he sat down on the bench nearest to the bridge. I never knew my parents they had been killed by the Templars, to which I had spent most of my life by myself until I ended up at the steps of the Order more dead then alive when Kel took me in. Slade said this leaning back to look at the sky as he then sighed. My God I'm so sorry Arthur I just didn't know that's horrible Jade said fighting tears to which he then put his arm around her as he spoke again. I won't lose you like how I lost my parents whatever happens I'll keep you safe, he replied back to which Jade looked into his eyes. You won't lose me Arthur I promise you we've been through so much already, and we'll continue to go through things especially in this profession but we'll go through it together. She said this kissing him on the lips to which the two had then hugged as she spoke again. Now lets get back to the apartment its freezing out here Jade said laughing to which Slade uttered a chuckle. They had gotten back to the apartment late and they had both fell onto the couch exhausted from their day. I take it your hungry guess I should make us dinner, Jade said kissing him before getting up and moving toward the kitchen. It was then that Slade had noticed the letter he had received earlier on the table still laying where he placed it. He took the letter and opened it to read though as he read the letter his face turned to a look of sadness and shock, to which he fell on the couch placing his face in his hands. Jade noticing Slade's reaction and face to the letter came into the room and placed a hand on his shoulder. Arthur? what happened? did something happen what's wrong? she said rubbing his back. Its a letter from the council Grandmaster Kel was found murdered in his home last night. Jade's face had turned pale to which she sat down herself as she was just in as much shock as he was. What else does it say she said tearing up did it say whose responsible. No the council warned us to be on our guard and to watch for any strange activity that we may encounter but there is something more he replied back to her. As Slade had continued to read the letter he looked in even more shock, catching Jade's eyes once again before he spoke again as he continued to read. In the event of Kel's untimely death a new Grandmaster of the Assassin Order has been chosen as tradition, but the council they've already chosen by his will its what? its me. As he had said this Jade looked immediately shocked as she read the letter herself before speaking. Arthur the council has named you the new Grandmaster to succeed Kel this is big it says your coronation will begin after our mission, you're going to lead the Order this news is really unexpected. Slade was still in shock for this sudden news as he thought of Kel as a father to him to which after a moment of silence Jade had spoken again. For someone to kill the Grandmaster of The Order in his own home, its just wrong all Kel has been through all he's seen he was more experienced and alert then any member on the Council it doesn't make any sense who could do this? She said this again reading the letter to herself to which Slade responded back angrily. Most likely the Templars without a doubt trying to scare us into abandoning our mission damn them to hell, attacking the seat of our own Order when we weren't there to defend it the cowards I'll kill em all. Slade said this balling up the envelope the letter came in and throwing it to the side as he spoke again. Their getting smarter if they can kill a member of the council than they would probably target us as well. He thought this to himself before Jade started talking. Should we go back to London? they might need our help Jade asked him to which Slade nodded in disapproval. The Council said that we should stay out of England for the moment lest we become the next victims he said holding her hand. It makes sense given I'm the new Grandmaster there's a big target on my back now, however there's nothing more we can do about this tonight we should rest and continue our mission in the morning. The two had gotten up and having lost their appetite moved to the bedroom where being tired fell fast asleep despite the troubling news now fresh on their minds.
