Chapter Twenty Three: Epilogue Part One

As she suspected Jade had found Slade sitting in the garden alone mediating  to which she approached him, though she knew that his mind was troubled she still found it in her to smile as she then spoke. We just made the news Germane Von Hoenheim found dead and they have no clue it was us, no doubt we'll make papers by morning hey are you alright Arthur? she said before placing a hand on his shoulder. Slade then looked to the sky for a moment before his gaze soon returned to Jade, as he took his hands in hers before sitting her next to him as he then spoke. Jade we both know that Germane was a man full of lies but there still existed one seed of truth that in being, we both have been alive for a very long time yet all these years you've been at my side, and who are we kidding it went beyond the duties of a master and an apprentice he said to which Jade soon responded. Yes there is no hiding it now I did all I could to keep you safe it went beyond what was allowed, and by all rights it could have resulted in my expulsion from the Order but I didn't care, I made it my personal mission to keep you safe because I loved you then like I do now Arthur. As she said this Slade could not help smiling for deep down her knew that Jade had truly, meant what she had said that she was ever more determined to be his protector which lead him to look her in the eyes as he spoke. Jade hear my words for they are truest ones I can ever say, I can't live without you for you are my world my passion you're what I fight for give or take I would leave it all behind to be your  protector now. As Slade had said this Jade was taken aback by his words, to which she could merely gaze at him to which he sighed before continuing his thought. And I realize now what the Council meant by that we would discover something about ourselves, What Kel said we'd discover about ourselves that thing I thought left unspoken by our deaths long ago, that thing being is that now we can protect each other. As Jade looked on Slade then preceded to stand before her and then kneel on one knee  to which she looked confused, which after realizing what was happening covered her mouth as he spoke again. I still know why we were given a second chance to live again but I welcome it because this time, we can do things right together Jade Ester Lestrade will you marry me, Slade said before producing a ring from his coat pocket to which Jade looked shocked. Inside Jade was overcome by his words, for she hadn't expected him to propose to her to which she soon had rushed into his arms as she then spoke. At the Observatory when the Apple killed me all I felt was darkness and yet, before it took me I heard your voice it brought me back in the moment you saved me, Arthur I can't live without you either yes I will marry you yes I will. As Jade said this she then had kissed Arthur in front of John and Ashley who had walked out to find them, to which as they looked on John then spoke to Ashley smirking. Well now It was about damn time come on Ash lets go back in, If I know these two they are going to be here for a long while. with that they had left both Slade and Jade alone in the garden who had now officially become an engaged couple.
