The party guests were all in an uproar as the lights were now gone with everyone trampling and running to exit as the Palace security, had begun to try and calm everyone down while trying to restore the power. Meanwhile outside the sounds from within had all but silenced as Slade and Germane met had finally met face to face, to which as Jade joined them he held out his hand halting her as the Templar finally broke the long silence between them all. So caught like a rat in a trap and I admit a fine trap indeed, so you are the one they were talking about you and your little party it seems, Germane sneered to which Slade spoke in frustration but with a calm composure. And you it seems have been the one trying to reestablish the Templar Order to disrupt the peace that we established, yet you fail to see that it was us Assassins who prevailed we were the ones who defeated you, he said as Germane uttered a mocking laugh before speaking. Now that is the true jest for you see the Templars were never defeated, good sir all your efforts and plans had been for naught he said as Slade and him began to circle each other slowly. That is the true lie we saw the last of your so called "Order" perish at the Observatory destroyed, by the very power that you sought to harness, Slade said to which Germane had cast a grim smile. All but a rouse to cover our tracks true as unfortunate as I admit the destruction of the Observatory at your hands did well, cause us a regrettably long delay but oh you couldn't have thought it would be that easy to stop us did you?, Germane snickered before adjusting his glasses. Slade had stood silent trying to not believe the words he was hearing as he then turned his gaze to Jade, who was just as in shock at this revelation as he to which Germane continued his thought. Don't you see? it is a hopeless effort to try to fight against us Mr. Bolin try as you may for as long as you wish in the end, none of what you or your Order can do can truly stop us the great work will continue, Germane said which had shocked Slade who then spoke. How do you know who I am? he said to which Germane simply answered him in a equally surprised tone. As I've said before We all very well know who you are, as well as your companion there Mrs. Lestrade, the Assassins from centuries ago whose determination to stop us is admirable  but nothing more then a fool's gambit, Germane said stepping forward. Yes indeed you Assassins have been a major thorn in our side for too long, don't you see we untimely seek the same goal as you peace and order he  said to which Slade chuckled. Ha! now that is the joke you are right I have been alive for a long time, yet if its one thing I know is you Templars are never about peace only seeking power and control and how much of it you can obtain, and silencing any who would rise to stand against you, your rule would be one born with blood and fueled by fear which you would plan to use the artifacts of an ancient civilization to achieve, Slade said to which Germane simply cleaned his glasses before speaking. All necessary to preserve that which you all seek to destroy think about it, you know of the Apple of Eden more then anyone else the very artifact, that has caused not only you but your companion to live for countless centuries with nigh a wrinkle of time to ravage your bodies its a blessing! , imagine the power it could give us the secrets it could reveal if we can properly harness it, Germane said causing Slade to look in disgust as he then replied to him. You think that our longevity is a blessing!? if I had the option I'd rather be a corpse once more, rotting away in my grave to time along with my friends and family that I've outlived, That power is too much for man to wield yet you blindly seek to contain it when it cannot be contained, it has corrupted minds altered timelines and has driven people mad and you would seek to use it as a weapon, Slade said to which Germane spoke sharply. Not a weapon! an instrument with that power wars could be a thing of the past, sickness and death gone peace forever ensured what you see as a curse we see as a gift an opportunity for a better world then the one before, Germane said finishing his thoughts as Slade was beyond words. He couldn't believe that the Templar's had sought to use the apple in this manner, to completely seek to alter the natural balance itself in their favor and to upset the natural flow of the world as Germane continued. But back to the matter at hand its certainty that I am to die and you the one who will deliver the blow fret not I will not fight, for I have accepted my fate at your hands but do not think that my death will stop the great work, for once I am gone another will rise to take my place and so forth hence my reasoning that to fight us is a pointless struggle, Germane said finishing his thoughts before removing his glasses. Slade had grown tired of German's lies and had unsheathed his hidden blade, however he did have some misplaced respect for the man for he knew Germane was as devoted to his Order as his own. Slade then had walked behind Germane and placed a hand on his shoulder to steady him, to which he then exhaled  as Slade stabbed him clean in the back of the neck. Germane soon uttered bloody coughs as he then had fallen to the ground dead, as Slade had then bent down and closed his eyes before Jade had then spoken. That man the words he spoke to us Arthur he didn't deserve a quick death to me he deserved to die a slow, and painful one for the many deeds he's committed, she said to which Slade then continued. Indeed he did deserve a slow and painful death however he was nothing more then a pawn to the Templars, groomed at a young age to their ideals like we were to ours it's all he knew, I saw his eyes he truly believed in what he was saying I gave him a quick death because the life he chose to live, was a slow and painful one as it is for all who choose his path in the end he was a sorry old man and it was to that which at times we must show mercy to our enemies. Ultimately Slade had been relived by Germane's death at his hands as the deed was done yet, he was also disturbed since the man had known so much about him and the Assassins. Deep down he knew that there was something far bigger going on then what he had first thought, but all these thoughts had been disrupted when he clicked back in reality knowing he had to flee the Palace with Jade, to which they left Germane's body to lie on the cold ground as they made their way to rejoin the others.
