Chapter Three : The Visitation of Jade

As they left the citadel both Slade and Jade were thinking about the events that transpired as she finally spoke to him, this is big huh? she said breaking the silence and their thoughts as he replied. Yeah I never thought they would return after so long Slade said as they stopped walking as Jade spoke to him again, can I come over to your place tonight Jade asked to which Slade nodded. Of course I could use the company he said with a laugh to which Jade chuckled as she replied okay then I'll be over at seven, Jade said giving him a playful tap on the shoulder before leaving him alone with his thoughts on the near vacant street. Slade had arrived home to be greeted by Naga who was waiting at the door as he spoke to her, hey girl were going to have company hey said patting her on the head telling of Jade's later arrival. As the hours ticked by Slade had been thinking about all that the council had told him, He thought about the Observatory and the Templars and how they are linked. He also thought of how the apple didn't kill him and these thoughts troubled him deeply as he muttered to himself, all I remember is blacking out what happened to me on that day. Slade thought deeply of this to himself though just than he heard the doorbell ring, which broke him from his thoughts once again bringing him back to reality. He then preceded to walk over to the door and opened it to find Jade on the other side, as she was still wearing the same clothes she wore at the meeting with the exception of her hair being tied up in a ponytail. Told you I'd come a little late though apologies for that she said walking past him, into the living room to which Slade merely smirked as he closed the door behind him. I never doubted you and its perfectly alright he replied back to her before locking the door and pulling it to check that it was secure, He then walked in to find Jade at the table patting Naga on the head. She sure remembers me huh? she's so big now Jade replied back to which slade smiled, I'm surprised she's so calm usually she's always a tad hyper Slade laughed which caused Naga to produce a low growl before walking out of sight. Ah wolf dogs they always seem to impress me Jade said smiling before getting up to stretch as Slade had loosened his collar, Would you like something to drink? he asked to which Jade nodded. With him taking her nod into account he walked into the kitchen, before returning moments later with two glasses and a bottle of wine. To which he handed a glass to jade before putting his on the table, though as Jade took a sip of her drink she noticed that slade was sitting on the far east side of the room staring out of the window. Sensing something was wrong she sat her drink down and walked over to Slade who didn't notice her, until she put her hand on his arm to which he slowly lowered his glass from his lips as she spoke to him. Are you okay Arthur? she asked to which he looked at her then back at the window, at first he didn't speak but after a second or two he rose to his feet and set her down next to him before returning to his seated position as he finally spoke. Jade When we were at the Observatory when I blacked out what happened to me? he asked to which Jade's face became serious as she replied, When you touched the apple I thought , I thought you were lost because I heard what had happened to people who had came into contact with its power. And seeing you touch it I just I couldn't , though Slade seeing the sadness in Jade's eyes pulled her into his arms holding her in the quiet of the house. Jade was surprised by his concern for her so she responded by resting her head on his shoulder, We're going to Paris he had said breaking the silence as Jade had glanced up at him. Paris? why there? she said confused to which slade got up as he spoke, it was in a dream we have questions about the Templars and I believe we'll find them there he replied sipping down his drink. Jade then yawned to which slade took that she was tired as he rose to his feet, go get some rest we'll leave out in the morning slade said helping her up as she replied through another yawn. Okay goodnight Arthur don't stay up too late she said, tapping his shoulder before preceding to his bedroom. After seeing Jade to bed Slade had walked into his study to which he glanced at his sword in its display case covered in the dust of time, He walked over and opened the case to which he lifted his sword out of is case. Its been awhile since I've last held you hasn't it my blade he said removing his sword from its sheath, My dearest friend lend me your power once more, fill me with your strength I have returned he said before placing the sword back into its case. Naga then preceded into the room to which Slade said down next to her, Well old girl looks my time of leisure and relaxation is at its end he said scratching her behind the ears. Naga then looked to the bedroom to which Jade could be seen tossing and turning in bed as Slade also glanced at her, Maybe we will discover more about ourselves on this journey huh girl he said to Naga who was asleep in her bed. This is going to be a long journey Slade sighed before resting on the couch, he drifted into sleep knowing that in the morning he and Jade would be on their way to France.
