Chapter Seventeen : Arrival In London

The Train had finally made it to London after hours of travel to which the air was brisk but not as cold as the blizzard endured earlier, to which as the group hopped off the train the strong wind immediately hits them. Jesus its freezing out here looks like the snowstorm originated here Jade said, as she lifted her hood up to which Slade felt the cold breeze for himself before lifting his own hood before speaking. Okay listen up everyone we made it here now we will need a place to set up a temporary headquarters, somewhere that won't arouse too much suspicion anyone have any ideas? As he said this both John and Ashley had paused to think for a moment  to which after not coming up with any ideas Jade had then responded. I think I have an idea of where to set up my families manor, it's has been vacant for years but I believe we can use it as a base. As she said this the group then had thought for a moment as well as Slade to which John then scratched his head before speaking up. Are you sure we can use your family manor for a base Jade?, I mean it'll be a big risk setting up there and if the Templars found it well you know what they'll do. He said this to which Jade had paused for a moment before nodding her head silently in approval, before replying with a deepened sigh. I'm a Lestrade and the house still rightfully belongs to me by right of birth so I'm sure, besides its well hidden if we limit our movements then we'll be virtually under their radar. As she said this John also nodded his head followed by Ashley, them both agreeing to the decision as Slade hopped off the train and pressing a button on his watch. Very well then we are all in agreement we will use Lestrade Manor as our temporary base of operations, once we get there we can discuss our plans further but I suggest you all stand back. After saying this a moment later his car came out from the back of the train, and again stopping a mere few feet from them all to which Jade laughed as he opened the driver side door. Okay Jade you have the wheel since you know where the house is and all, he said to which Jade sighed and then hopped in the car followed by everyone else as she spoke again. Okay hmm lets see where was it again? ah yes Kingston I believe? yes I'm right here it is, Kingston by the crossroads okay here we go lets just hope that there is still a house there its been so long. Jade said this starting the car and leaving the station as they began the drive to the Manor, which was originally a quiet drive as everyone was thinking over the future  events that would happen before Ashley had broken the silence. You're a really good driver Jade not that I'm saying the rest of you aren't, its just i've never really seen your driving yet its quite impressive she said chuckling to which Jade laughed. Oh no Slade is the real driver here though I still can't get a handle on this damn car, technology was never my strong suit guess my mind is still stuck in the past. Jade said to which Slade then smirked  before checking his data pad though deep down he couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong. In which his suspicions were right for as they were driving, John had noticed a car following them to which he alerted Slade. Though before Jade could react Slade had shouted for them to get down as the car lowered it windows, and started firing rounds at the car which nearly caused them to swerve off the road as Jade shouted. Shit! these Templars they must have tailed us from the station damn it! hold on I'll try to shake them, lets see what this car of yours can really do hang on everybody I'm gunning it. As Jade said this she immediately stamped the pedal to the floor causing the car to jerk, before rapidly accelerating as Slade had quickly leaned into the dashboard speaking to the car itself. Computer activate shield plating and vehicle defenses on all doors and windows we can't lead them to the Manor!, run them off the road Jade everyone else weapons out aim for the driver side window. He said this as the car whirred and then armor plating soon covered the majority of the windows, save for a small slit on each one to which Slade drew his pistol and began firing rounds at the car. Jade soon began turning corner after corner as Slade continued shooting, now followed by Ashley and John with the three shooting at the car as Jade continued to drive really fast through the streets of London. Though the car continued to keep pace with them but now appeared to visibly, start smoking as John had centered his rifle on the engine in an effort to stall the vehicle. Good John keep it up Ash with me aim for the driver keep us nice and steady Jade,  just need a clean shot  circle around that upcoming street we'll catch them at that street pole. Slade said this while he continued shooting at the window of the car while Jade  followed his directions, circling  around the main street and  through a plaza to which Ashley began firing at the windows after reloading her pistol. Though after a few more shots one had successfully found its target, hitting the driver and causing the car to flip and hit a pole before exploding from the damage done to the engine by John. After that Jade had continued driving until they reached Lestrade Manor to which they stopped to contemplate what had transpired. Okay that the actual hell just happened? she said getting out of the car followed by the others with Slade being the last. Like you said earlier it seems that we can go anywhere without some sort of trouble, John said to which Jade shook her head as Slade then approached them after examining his car for damages as he spoke. Car seems to still be in working order save for a few bullet holes I'll fix later as well as any internal damages , but we are here  we might as well go in and set up our equipment. Slade said this before getting the bags from the car followed by John officially getting ready to start up their new base of operations.
