The weekend in Solsper gave Jade all the motivation she needed. Alex, Ray, and her did not waste a moment. They ran drills after drills until they could cast their moves in seconds. Joe and Jade spent hours training with their weapons. Jade's new glaive came to her much more naturally than the staff had. While Jade missed Emanuel's letter to woo her to sleep at night, this was the best time for their absence to occur. All of her focus turned on one thing, and one thing only, showing Edge that he would not be the one to keep her down. Amelia worked with Ray to help polish some of their plays, giving them assistance on advantages to taking during battle. Electric Blue Rose may be the one battling against Edge, but it was a larger team who would defeat them.
Topaz told her the abilities she could cast would be limitless, but now wasn't the time for exploration, but the time for polishing. Edge knew some of her deepest insecurities, but what he didn't know was the girl who once became buried underneath them no longer shared the burden. Rick and Neia ensured that no one infiltrated their practices, and no one would have the slightest edge on what they were preparing. When Jade battled Edge again, she would leave no regrets behind. This time she would give her all and nothing less.
As night fell, her friends started to return to their rooms. Tomorrow was the big day. It would end with either a loss or a win. No matter which, Jade would leave Edge behind where he belonged. Jade packed her stuff in her bag, attaching the glaive to her holster. Making her way back to her room, she took in Omega 5. All that remained were the finals and the Graduation Ball. It would be the last time all of her friends would live in one place together. It would be the last time she rummaged the halls as a student. In two days, she would begin training in her new role, Princess of Findere. With little time between then and her presentation.
Rick and Neia secured her door behind her. Jade looked around at the boxes. All packed, but none sealed. The idea that all of this was coming to an end seemed impossible to her. It was this place that changed everything. A year ago, she pleaded with her life not to come here. Now, she would be leaving here one of the most respected wielders ever to attend. Jade sat at her desk and turned around to look at the dress on the wall. Topaz had made it special for her after seeing her gawk at one similar. It was lavender and hung off the shoulders, a bodice of white roses decorated it flowing down the skirt to line the hem with jewels. Despite its beauty, it dulled compared to what he had made for her presentation. Regardless, the thought of wearing it excited her.
Jade stood up and crossed to her mirror. The girl in front of her is entirely different than the one from Inanis. No longer was she desperate for even a look from Alex or to receive forgiveness from Edge. It didn't matter that she had multiple abilities or discovered herself as Princess of Findere. Now, when she looked at herself, only a smile met her. After a lifetime of resenting herself and being at the mercy of others, she no longer would be looked down on. Tomorrow she would not only show herself, but everyone watching.
