Edge turned and smiled, seeing her sleeping beside him. He covered her exposed body with the blanket and ran his hand gently on her cheek. She fidgeted before opening her eyes, and they stayed on him while a smile took over her face. Jade fell right back into his arms. The familiar stares of her love and longing greeted him. "I could get used to this," Edge said, bringing a broader smile. He kissed her lips and watched as she melted from his touch. Everything he dreamed of the first time they were together, now here they were without the significant barrier Alex had been. Yet, there was still something different about her.
"I missed those eyes," Jade said, captivated by him. Finally, it seemed he didn't have to convince her of their chemistry. Instead, she became overwhelmed by it. Her eyes trailed down his body, her breaths growing heavier as she took in his new figure. He smirked, enjoying her lust betraying her. Edge pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her bare waist and pressing her against him. He lowered his head and returned his lips to her feeling her quiver underneath him.
"It's unfair how beautiful you are." Jade's bashfulness returned as her head bowed from the compliment. She was a puppet to his words. This time Edge had her wrapped around his finger. He'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy the power it brought. Watching her unravel at his every word and movement was exciting.
"I was such a fool," Jade said as she returned her gaze to him. "I won't make the same mistake again." She sat up, and he pulled her into his lap and deepened their kiss. "I should probably go change," she said, laughing with some hesitance. He knew that there would be no hiding that she hadn't stayed in her room last night when she was seen wearing that silver dress. Though, he honestly didn't mind causing others to wonder. "Do you want to get lunch or something today?"
"Sure." Her eyes lit up at his acceptance. Edge's heart raced at her reactions, every one of them bringing a sense of satisfaction to him. Jade dressed on her way to the door. Edge intersected her and kissed her as she stood in the doorway. Jade sighed, looking at him. He knew she was unable to help herself. Edge watched her as she started down the hallway. A few other guys in the hall glanced up at him and smiled. Edge smirked in response, and as if he was in a dream, Alex walked out just in time. "Morning, Alex," Edge greeted. Alex's eyes followed Edge's, registering that Jade had left his room. Alex forced a smile and returned to his room. Edge chuckled and crossed back into his room. He knew he shouldn't be rubbing it in, but it seemed deserved after Alex behaved the first day Edge saw her again.
Edge showered and changed, ready to show her off once again for lunch. Edge would take any excuse to flaunt her and show Alex who won in the end. He knew he shouldn't refer to her as something he won, but essentially she was. Alex threatened Edge's life for too long, and it was time Edge was returned control. Edge killed some time wandering the courtyards before making his way to her room. He didn't want to seem like he had nothing else to do than wait for her. When she opened the door, he knew she had lost control. As quickly as they came back into each other's life, she became utterly captivated by him. Edge smiled, admiring the flowy dress, her hair tied in the braid he remembered. In the doorway, he brought her lips to him, hoping there was a sizable audience. Her hand was in his after she shut and locked her room. Edge led her outside and smiled as her eyes never left him. He stopped and brought her close to him, kissing her again.
"You're so pretty, do you know that," she melted at his words. "Come on. I want to show you something." Edge helped her up and led her into the forest around the campus, bringing her to a small garden he planted.
"You did this?" Jade's eyes widened at the sight of it. Despite her white dress, she knelt on the ground, and he watched her true passion come forward. He noticed her eyebrows move, and he knew what that meant.
"Okay, professor," he teased. "What did I do wrong?"
Jade laughed. "Well, I think you're overwatering the Sinuets. They only need water once a week, and you should do it when the sun is at its brightest, so it doesn't sit atop the roots but rather sinks in."
"Well, are they going to be okay?"
"Of course," she reached for a small twig and made a small path from the Sinuets to the Jase's. "Jase's are much more able to stand more significant amounts of water. So I'll reroute the excess to them.
He got down on his knees beside her. She looked over at him, and he kissed her. He lowered her to the ground and deepened his kiss. "You put the garden's beauty to shame," he whispered, looking down at her. Her wide eyes stared up at him, and he knew she was succumbing to his words and touch.
"I'm not sure how much more my heart can take before it bursts," Jade said, her eyes shining at him. Jade laughed as he lifted her and brought her into his lap, and her laugh warmed him. No matter the past, her beauty only grew since they departed.
"I'm not sure how much more I can take when you look at me like that. I want to take you to my room and hide you away." Her face reddened. He chewed his lip, enjoying the reaction. He jumped at the sound of flashes. He looked around.
"Those reporters are back," Jade frowned. "We should go."
"Reporters?"
"Alex warned me they may follow me for a bit after the breakup. I thought I was in the clear since it had been a few days.
Edge leaned in and whispered. "Are you sure we shouldn't give them a show?" She laughed, trying to cover her shyness. Edge kissed her, enjoying the sound of the shutters around them. He wiped the dirt off the back of her dress and helped her stand. His hand went to her face, and she leaned into it. "Just perfect," he said, rubbing his finger on her lip before replacing it with his own.
