Chapter 34

"Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving."

Aphrodite is on the ground with her palms glowing lavender over a body. She is healing Orion who was stabbed in the chest with a two headed stiletto dagger. It missed his heart by an inch. Dimitri is going head-to-head with my mother. I hit the ground on my knees and skid to a stop next to his head. Tears falling from my eyes and landing on his bloodied face. Marissa comes to my side and begins to help heal Orion with Aphrodite. I watch as Hendrix and Orion are battling side by side with Dimitri. All three are fighting my mother.... I heard Orion cough and next thing I know he is already standing next to Dimitri with a look that could make someone combust into flames. Marissa and I chant the same protection spell over Aphrodite, our warriors, Luke, Sebastian, Dixon, Landyn who are near us. Marissa successfully has done the spell over my mates. So, now when Kali uses her dark magic; it won't affect any of us around her. She can't use it to kill my mates. She can't use it to weaken my family. So, she can't kill them however she pleases. I walk up with Marissa to my right and stand beside Paxton. Hendrix is next to Marissa. It is strange seeing as I am fighting side by side with what use to be my worst enemy. Marissa is more powerful than what I honestly ever gave her credit for. Kali's cackling stops my thoughts. She throws her hands up, signaling for someone or something. Out from behind the debris of chaos, a vampire drags out a badly beaten body of what looks like a female. The wind starts to blow and the young lady's scent hits my nose.

Before I could move Dimitri's in my head.

'Don't even do it.'

I just looked over at him and snarled.

'Marissa will help you but don't do what you're thinking!'

When I still haven't reacted the way my mother wanted, she signals again. Out of the shadows comes the king's top two commanders each are dragging two small children in both their hands. My wolf is howling in my head.

Those filthy traitors!

I already knew who they have in their grasp. Tyson, Rowan, Dovelin, and Shiloh. This causes our entire side to snarl and snap.

"Tie these 5 up in the mausoleum! We'll start a bonfire in a bit!" Kali's voices echoes through the air.

Before I could move, the children and my best friend have been drug into the mausoleum by their captors. Before anyone could think about blinking Aphrodite, Marissa, and I already charge towards Kali. Kali's spells can't hurt us nor can her hexes reach us. They bounce off our invisible shield and hit each of her members one by one. Every spell is countered with a new one. When she realizes her spells and hexes aren't even touching us, she loses it. She stops with her chanting and started to fight violently with all three of us. The guys and their top ranking wolves are fighting with the traitors and Kali's top warriors. We get a mind link from our men that the war on the west side has ended and they're on their way to the north. Not even a moment later our east side warriors have also mink linked.

'Enemies are down. We're on our way to the Mausoleum!'

Our reinforcements are heading here. Kali is going to be way outnumbered. But the look on our two top warriors faces will be what kills me. They will either learn their fathers have betrayed us. Or that they were in on it too. I don't think I could handle anymore betrayal from our side. Kali has vines shooting out of the ground trying to wrap us up in it. I, however, use my fire element and hit any vine that is coming towards me. Marissa does the same.

Wait? This bitch is an elemental witch?

Aphrodite on the other hand is just gliding past all the bloody vines. Before Aphrodite could attack, one of Kali's stronger witches has attacked her. Aphrodite is easily winning. Kali tries to that a hex at Marissa but it bounces off her protective spell and hit Kali instead. This has weakened her to where we could possibly kill her. Dimitri comes to my aid and we began to chant the spell Artemis said we would need.
