Chapter 46: Double-Date

Emily's POV

"After you, beautiful" I opened the door for Ali to the Grille

"Thank you" she smiled before catching my eyes looking down as she walked past me "I know 80% of the reason you do this is to stare at my butt, you know" she shook her head

"Never said it wasn't" I grinned mischievously as I followed in behind her making an obvious show of staring

"Are you going to be like this in front of your friends?" she rolled her eyes at me

"Toni is the same with Cheryl so I'll probably be worse" I replied cheekily

"Great" she chuckled looking around the restaurant "There they are" she pointed to a booth at the back where the redhead and pink-haired girl very clearly stood out

I took her hand in mine and tugged her back gently forcing her to face me before we went to sit "I love you" I pecked her lips lightly

She smiled lightly "I love you too... Now let's go have a nice dinner with your college friends" she pulled me towards them

"Hey my favourite gays!" I greeted the couple who were clearly too in their own world together to even notice us. They both looked up with a big smile and stood up to hug us

"Emily!" Cheryl grabbed me into a tight hug pushing Toni back in the booth to get to me first

"Hey Cher" I chuckled wrapping my arms around her

"And the amazing Alison!" Cheryl smiled brightly at Alison before kissing each of her cheeks

"Hey Em" Toni laughed at her girlfriend and pulled me into a quick hug "And you must be the Alison that neither of these two seem to be able to shut up about" Toni came forward and hugged Ali briefly, initially taken aback before hugging back. We both took our seat across from them. As we ordered our food and drinks, we exchanged small-talk.

"I'm so glad you agreed to this date with the hot ginger from the bar and the pretty brunette with pink hair" Cheryl teased once our drinks were set in front of us

"Cher" Toni whined

"What? It's all in good fun" her girlfriend shrugged

"It's fine, Toni - after 3 weeks of working together and hearing it almost every day, it grows on you" Ali dismissed with a laugh "Plus, it's not like I lied when I said that" she winked

"Well thank you - and she's not wrong when she says you're very pretty too" Toni replied with a smirk

"I am here, you know" I waved my hand in front of Ali who was jokingly giving both girls a flirtatious look

"Ooops?" she giggled "I'm kidding, babe. No need to get jealous" she kissed my cheek and squeezed my thigh

"Pffttt, I'm not jealous" I crossed my arms over my chest leaning back in my chair

"Sure, E. You know I studied psychology as part of my social work degree and your body language is saying otherwise right now" Toni mocked me as the table laughed

"I can't believe that its been two minutes and you're already tag-teaming me" I protested

"Ok ok we'll stop" Ali comforted me grabbing my hand on the table and kissing it

"Aw look TT, they're almost as adorable as us" Cheryl commented

"Almost?" Ali turned her attention to Cheryl with an eyebrow raised

"You heard me" Cheryl flicked her hair

"Not enough room for two HBICs in this town, Cheryl" Ali joked "You should go back to wherever you're from" she sipped on her drink
