Emily's POV
Ali and I walked back in to the warm house after our walk around the lake. I took my coat off before helping her with hers.
"Thank you, baby" She smiled and kissed my lips softly. God, I'd missed feeling them against mine
"You're welcome, angel" I grinned back as we headed into the living area hand-in-hand, where we could hear our friends laughing
"Hey, Emison is back!" Noel greeted us
"Have a nice walk?" Aria asked
"Had the best walk thanks to this beautiful girl that I love like crazy" I showed Ali off who hid her face in the crook my neck, embarrassed, trying to contain a blush that had risen to her cheeks
"Oh god - I forgot how annoyingly cute you two are when you're dating" Aria grunted
"Get used to it, cause it's here to stay!" I retorted pulling Ali close to my side and kissing the side of her head as she wrapped her arms around my waist "Forever"
"Always" she smiled back placing a chaste kiss on my lips
"Ugh" our friends groaned collectively at our sweetness
"Surely they aren't like this all the time?" Quinn questioned
"Oh right you're new here" Hanna sassed "They're like this all the time... It's disgusting. In high school, we couldn't get through one interaction with them without them being all lovey dovey and adorable. It was really annoying. One time, I actually threw up"
"No need to be jealous, Han" I mocked "But hey, we have five years to make up for so I don't care what you guys think. My girl deserves to be treated like the queen she is so if that means being OTT in public about how much I love her then you're just gonna have to learn to deal" I lifted Ali's face with my fingers and leaned in to kiss her passionately, as I took her lips in mine I bit a little on her bottom lip, earning a small moan from her as she put her hand under my teeshirt and gripped my waist pulling me as close as possible to her
Suddenly, I'm thrown off balance by a shove. I detached from Ali to see Jason standing there "Thanks but I don't need to see my sister getting turned on"
"Says the brother I walked in on after he screwed my girlfriend's ex" Ali immediately hit back
The room went silent apart from Hanna spitting out her drink and Cece and Quinn bursting out laughing
My muscles tensed up and my mouth went a little dry. The comment made me uneasy considering the conversation we just had and I was worried Quinn was laughing to cover her own discomfort "Ali..." I whispered "I swear we just spoke about this" I pleaded
"What?" she turned to me with a raised eyebrow. She scanned my face and her face dropped a little when she saw the discomfort in my eyes "Geez! It was a joke! If I can't laugh about it then what's the fun?" she looked at me "Fine..." she walked up to Quinn "Sorry, it was my lame attempt at a joke. I'm sorry if it made you uncomfortable" she hugged the other blonde
"No worries - I mean you were just saying facts to be fair" she chuckled "and I found it funny" Quinn shrugged
"You guys need to stop acting like that shit didn't happen and like we can't laugh about it. Take the stick out of your arse, you dull-ass people!" Hanna exclaimed earning a low chuckle from the room as she eased the tension
