Dedicated to Zarahfarooq for being the best friend ever....:)
A bright, cheery morning had made its way into the quaint little town of Sundarnagar. Everything was calm and pleasant around. The melodious tunes of the sweet singing birds echoed through the trees surrounding the elegant Shaykh villa. Beautiful and sweet smelling flowers bloomed in the garden infront of the house and butterflies with variant colours danced around them.
Mrs.Shaykh was engrossed in the kitchen making breakfast for the family silently doing zikr at the same time. Her fair face was lit up with a beautiful smile and she seemed to be in a very good mood.
"Assalamualaikum dearest Ammijaan; How are you feeling this bright, cheery morning?"Mrs.Shaykh stopped her task and turned to look at her son who was standing in the kitchen doorway with a huge smile. He was dressed in a dark brown pathani and his wavy hair were a little wet as he had just freshened up.
Mrs.Shaykh smiled widely at the sight of her handsome son," Waalaikumassalam beta Arhaan, you look handsome MashaAllah. And Alhamdulillah I am fine."
"Yes Ammi, I agree; your son is the handsomest youth ever born in this royal Kingdom of Sundarnagar.
Now, let me help you." Arhaan said smiling smugly as he walked ahead
and stood beside his mother.
"No beta, it's almost done. You just go up and call your brother for breakfast. "Arhaan looked at his mom in shock as she said that," What? You mean , Afzal isn't awake yet. This is unusual."
Afzal was never the one to sleep for long hours.Infact he could hardly sleep at night let alone sleeping late in the mornings. And even if he ever slept after Fajr he would be up before Arhaan which was the reason why Arhaan was shocked to learn that his brother was still asleep.
Mrs.Shaykh smiled amusedly as she flipped the dosa on the pan.
"Alhamdulillah I am glad, he is taking rest. The boy hardly ever gets some sleep."Arhaan frowned slightly as he thought about his brother, "But he is never so late.I wonder what's wrong."
His mother shook her head at him,"There is nothing wrong with him.Infact he has been very happy and pleasant since the past two days.
May Allah SWT always keep him smiling like this."Arhaan grinned widely at her words, "Ofcourse he has been smiling like crazy since we returned from that Walima programme. I guess my brother enjoyed a lot that night."
Mrs.Shaykh smiled as she shoved him out, " Now stop all your notions and go wake your brother."
"Your wish is my command, Ammi.It will be accomplished within no time." He made a slight bow and rushed upstairs smiling all the way.
Arhaan turned the door knob and walked in. He stood infront of the bed watching his brother sleeping peacefully.
His usual teasing smile came back on his face as he realised his brother was smiling slightly in his sleep.
Arhaan shook his head and went to sit beside him.
He grinned evilly as an idea popped into his head.Bending down to his brother's ear he whispered slightly in a girly voice, "Afzal sweetheart, wake up."
