The beautiful morning maiden had walked in with all her elegance; escorting the King of the day to its throne. The royal King settled itself in its wide spread realm casting it's brilliant charisma all around!
Townsfolk in Sundarnagar cheerily welcomed the day as the sweet songs of the chirping birds echoed melodiously in the atmosphere. The serenity of the surroundings was carried and spread everywhere by the cool morning breeze.
The small white house in the heart of Sundarnagar seemed quite as most of the occupants still hadn't awoken from their slumber. There was a little movement in the kitchen where Mrs.Bakhtiyar was preparing breakfast for the family.
The rest of the house was silent.
Upstairs in the balcony of one of the bedrooms, a girl stood leaning on the railings as her graceful eyes scanned the view of the elegant town. She was wearing a casual shalwar kameez and the dupatta was loosely placed around her head. Some loose strands of her long silky hair swayed with the wind and covered half of her fair face.
She was lost in her own thoughts and it was something quite painful she thought about because her eyes had turned glassy.
"Ya Allah! " A sudden scream brought her out of her painful thoughts and she turned to see her friend sitting up on the bed with her face in her hands.
She walked in the room and sat beside her friend who looked startled. She placed an arm around her and spoke in her soft gentle tone,
" Calm down Zaaroo , it was just a dream."
Zaara always had a sleep full of dreams; sometimes it would be nightmares or sometimes incredibly beautiful dreams. This was the very reason she would usually be snappy and grumpy especially in the mornings.
Zaara nodded and leaned in towards her friend as she engulfed her in her warm embrace.
"What was that about? " Nawal asked her while soothingly patting her back.
"I don't know", Zaara spoke as she stared blankly ahead,"but I saw that I tripped while walking down a staircase and then...." She trailed off and frowned to herself.
"And then what? " Nawal pressed.
"I saw a hand that was held out for me and as I looked up ....I just couldn't make out who he was...but those eyes. ...Ya Allah! Why do I feel them so familiar....." Zaara again trailed off.
Nawal narrowed her eyes as she queried again,"What did he look like?"
Zaara furrowed her eyebrows thoughtfully as she spoke, "I couldn't make out his face.it was like a blur.Just his eyes. Somewhat familiar hazel eyes . "
Nawal shook her head,"Stop overthinking and tell me in detail what happened. "
Zaara sighed, "I kept staring at his extended hand and when I refused to take it," she shut her eyes as she continued, "he said he means no harm and just wants to help but I couldn't trust him still and so...."
Zaara grabbed her friend's hand tightly, "He took my hand and helped me up and then he just kept staring at me.I tried to walk away but it was as if I was glued in place.I was so lost that I didn't realise he held both my hands and stepped closer and then....
I awoke...thankfully" she blurted out and heaved a sigh of relief.
