Dedicated to sumaya79 for her beautiful comment that really touched my heart:) JazakAllah Khayr dear sis :)
The night maiden had widespread her long black cloak engulfing the atmosphere into deep depths of darkness. In the balcony of the upstairs bedroom of the Bakhtiyar's house, a pretty young girl stood staring blankly into the dark night. The cool night breeze gently touched her fair smooth skin, and caressed her beautiful face. She was dressed in a white shalwar kameez and it's dupatta was loosely placed around her head.
Strands of her dark wavy hair escaped through her loosely placed dupatta and swayed across her graceful face. She didn't even bother to push them back as they disturbed her dark brown eyes. Her gaze was glued to the darkness before her.It seemed to her like an endless hole, the more you dig, the deeper it gets, but there is no end to it. She found the darkness similar to it, there were no answers in those dark depths for the various questions lingering in her baffled mind. Slowly she raised her gaze to the elegant white moon and it's soothing presence in the dark night sky seemed to relieve her restless heart a bit. It was so bright, flawless and captivating.Just like him!
His mesmerising hazel eyes, tall muscular frame, and those silky strands of his hair that fall effortlessly on his forehead! And how dynamic and dashing he looked in his black golden sherwani that day on her friend's engagement...oh but his Handsomeness was just too much for her awestruck heart to take!!! And the way his hazel eyes stared intently at her...his piercing gaze seeing right through her....
She shut her eyes,as her love stricken mind continued to picture him.Her heart ached as a sudden thought emerged therein.
It terrified her,.....The thought of losing him.....!!Although she knew it was silly of her to think that he will ever leave her but who knows what his reaction might be on what she was planning to tell him...!!
"Zaaroo?" Nawal's soft soothing voice brought her out of her conflicting thoughts.
She turned to face her friend, worry & anxiety etched over her fair face.
Nawal walked in the balcony and stood beside her placing a comforting arm around her shoulders. "What's wrong? "
"Nawwu....I want to...I want to talk to Afzal." Zaara blurted looking away.
Nawal stared perplexed at her,then spoke after a moment,"So I guess...that's a good thing. "
Zaara shook her head,"Not the way you are thinking Nawal.
I want to talk to him......about...."
She couldn't complete as her eyes welled up with unshed tears."About?" Nawal pressed narrowing her eyes at her friend.
Zaara took in a deep breath before answering,"About my past....about Rashid."
Nawal looked incredulously at her,"Are you crazy Zaara? Why do you want to tell him that? "
Zaara turned to face her completely, trying to keep back the tears that threatened to escape her eyes,"Because he needs to know that...he deserves to know Nawal."
"No", Nawal shook her head, "It doesn't matter Zaara. Its not like you had an affair with that idiot. You merely talked to him. That too it wasn't your fault. Circumstances were such that you couldn't do anything.....", she paused looking into her friend's tear filled eyes then softly tried to assure her,"Zaara, people do so many things .....Yet hide them from their partners and you want to tell Afzal such a little thing? It will only create unnecessary misunderstandings."
