Dedicated to all the amazing mothers.May Allah bless them all . Aameen:-)Assalamualaikum my lovely readers here is the third chapter Alhamdulillah:
The weather had been pretty chilly.Cool, soothing winds blew around making the atmosphere calm and peaceful. Tall, luxurious and perfectly designed apartments in a certain area in Jogeshwari gleamed in the brightly lit city. The white apartment that was the tallest amongst them stood out giving a magnificent view.It was brightly lit and full of life especially it being the weekend that day.Except for a house on the third floor. The 3BHK flat was quite compared to the enthusiastic and merry surroundings. The hall was empty and so were the bedrooms however everything was neatly arranged and in place.
There in the kitchen was a woman keenly engrossed in her task. She was wearing a sea green coloured shalwar kameez and it's dupatta was wrapped around her head. The woman was fair with hazel eyes and looked probably in her 50's.She was slowly moving around stirring dishes and slicing fruits and doing other errands. Her lips were silently moving in zikr as her heart was engrossed in Allah SWT'S remembrance. After her dishes were done, she turned the burners off and adding the sliced fruits in the custard she walked towards the fridge. As she placed the custard bowl in the fridge and closed the door her gaze fell upon the clock on the wall behind the fridge.A frown settled on her fair face.It was 8:30 in the night.
She walked out of the kitchen and into her bedroom.Gently picking her cellphone she was about to dial when the doorbell rang. The woman sighed and walked to the hall to open the door.
As she opened the door a wide smile made its way onto her fair face making it glow in joy. There before her stood her tall, handsome eldest son in a white embroidered pathani. He had a fair complexion with a slightly brown beard and silky hair with hazel eyes just like hers.He was well built and a good 6ft tall.As he glanced at his mother a gorgeous smile lit up his handsome face."Assalamualaikum Ammi", he said as he walked in and embraced his mother."Waalaikumassalam beta."His mom greeted cheerily. "Ammi I missed you", he stated smiling as he released her from the embrace."Afzal beta I missed you too.Come on in first and sit.I"ll get a glass of water." As she turned to head back into the kitchen her son grabbed her hand " Nah Ammi I don't need water.Just sit with me."His mom smiled and shook her head as he led her to the sofa and made her sit.He placed his bag on the table and sat down on the floor before her placing his head on her lap.His mother lovingly patted his head but frowned as she realised his hair were a bit wet."Afzal why are you late and how did your hair become wet?" Afzal lifted his head and looked at his mother "Ammi it was drizzling tonight and I got caught up in the traffic." Mrs.Shaykh nodded yet the frown didn't leave her face " Go change first you might catch a cold." His Mom ordered."Ammi m fine I just got a little wet..It was only a drizzle.Besides your lap is warm enough for me.i won't catch a cold" Afzal said smiling as his mom shook her head and gently moved him to get up.She then held his hand and urged " Come on beta I want you to take a shower and get changed and meanwhile I'll arrange the dinner. " Afzal reluctantly nodded yet moved to go to his room but he halted a bit and turned back.Walking back to his mom he kissed her forehead and smiled " Ammi I love you." His mother gently raised her hand and placed it on his cheek " I love you too beta now go and change." He frowned as he remembered something and walked towards his bag. Opening the bag he removed a brown coloured book and walked back to his mother who was staring at him confusedly. "Ammi you told me to get that book of Sheikh Zulfikar this morning.I brought it while returning from Azim uncle's store." He said handing the book to his mother . Mrs.Shaykh smiled as her eyes turned glassy " This is what took you so long" she said shaking her head . Afzal rolled his eyes " Come on Ammi it's no big deal. Its not like I brought you stars from the sky." His mother looked up at him with teary eyes " It wasn't that urgent.Yet you went all the way to Azim bhai's store which is an hour drive from here despite your heavy working day today. And it's not just this I m talking about every time I say something you do it at the earliest." Afzal sighed and firmly placed both his hands on his mother's shoulders " Ammi tell me when I ask you to make something for me do you delay it saying you would do it the next day? even if you are tired you prepare it the same day. Then how can I delay your wish when it is so easy to fulfill." His mother just stared at him her tears escaping silently."I can never thank my Lord enough for blessing me with such an obedient son."Afzal gently wiped her tears and embraced her tightly as she cried her heart out. "It's nothing compared to the sacrifices you have made for us Ammi."Afzal whispered in a low tone. They stayed like that until finally his mother stopped crying.
