Love you sis for the sake of Allah!
Minutes had progressed into hours,hours to days & days into a whole week!
An entire week had passed by yet still the inner turmoil going on within her
showed no signs of ceasing neither did those conflicting thoughts lead her to
any conclusion! If anything it had only left her mind in a jumbled mess of emotions!!
To do or not to do seemed to be a serious question haunting her all day & night!
Geeta Rastogi stood infront of the mirror in her room,contemplating the
only thing on her mind.Whether or not to face the inevitable??
The inevitable being .....talking to her father about the proposal!!!!
Just like her friends had suggested,she had made Istekhara for seven consecutive
nights .She didnt exactly remember any dreams she had,but considering everything
all she could conclude was accepting the marriage proposal!!
It was a wise thing to do from point of view of religion as well as her own
feelings. ......
But.....
Seeking her dad's approval seemed a major problem!!!
Not that he would oppose .....but that was the problem that she didn't know
what to expect .....how he would react ....already her mom had informed him
about it ,asked for his opinion and his reply had been extremely nonchalant as
if it's no big deal!!!!!
Nawal's words echoed through her mind as she thought that:
"If he had a problem with Zulaym ,it was understandable, but when he said
you can do whatever you wish,he has in fact given his consent...!"
Geet was in complete agreement with the advice,but he was her father after all
& there was a part of her that desperately wished he would give his approval
happily however impossible that may seem to her practical mind.
"Tell him", she recalled Zaara's words," Muster some courage & tell your father
that you want to do this ! Ask him,if he has any problem if you proceed and if he
doesn't stop you,then you aren't in the wrong."
That was all she had to do!!!
Which was again eàsier said than done!!!
However courageous and confident a girl might be, telling her father that she
is in love with a guy & wants to marry him requires much more than just courage....!!!!!
She bit on her lip and watched the anxious ,worried girl in the mirror
nervously....!!
Her phone buzzed indicating another text from her friends.They had been encouraging her ,sending positivity quotes, and inspirational messages but oh!
They didn't know what it felt like to be in her place,telling her dad about the guy
she loved!!!!
Then again there was a strange feeling in the corner of her heart ...lessser in
intensity & strength compared to other stronger emotions but still clear enough
to be distinct & pondered upon......a Strange emotion that she recognised as
insecurity ......fear & doubt of what was to come in future...!!!
Sure her friends had assured her that she will be acçepted & treated rightly
by her in laws but that didnt mean her heart was completely at rest.There was
still the small voice in the back of her mind ....a Voice speaking of all possible
fears that may come true ...but this disturbing thoughts were silenced by the
Strongest of emotion within her....the overpowering emotion called Love...!!!
